Yellow，green，rainbow..…animals have a lot of beautiful and different colors.These colors are important to them.Some animals use the colors to scare away or hide from unfriendly animals.Others use the colors to find their partners.But how do animals have their colors？

Food gives them colors

Some animals get colors from their food.For example，flamingos（火烈鸟） eat a lot of shrimp or sea plants.These things have a red﹣orange color.The color of the food gives flamingos a pink color.The more they eat，the pinker they get.

Body gives them colors

Animals' body parts，like feathers，hair and skin，have special structure.They reflect（反射） light to make animals colorful.This is called structural color（结构色）.For example，blue butterflies have fancy scales（鳞片） on their wings.This gives them a bright blue color.Structural colors don't fade（褪色）.People use the idea to make special clothes and paints.

Ryan and Lucas are brothers.Ryan is twelve years old and Lucas is eight.They don't live with their Grandpa，but they often visit their Grandpa at the weekends.Sometimes they play table tennis together，and sometimes they go fishing together.
