California is in the south of America. About 45,000,000 monarch butterflies(黑脉金斑蝶)spent the winter in California. That was in the 1980s. In 2020, the number was under 2,000.People want to bring the number back up. So, they have planted(种植) milkweed. Monarch butterflies need the plant to survive(存活).

Monarch butterflies breed(繁殖) where milkweed grows. Female(雌性) monarch butterflies lay eggs(产卵) on it. There are much less milkweed in California than there used to be. This is because of farming. Planting more milkweed will give them more places to breed. So people need to grow more milkweed.

But it could take 10 years for the number of monarch butterflies to go up. People are not going to see results(结果) overnight(一夜之间). But the number of monarch butterflies will be larger(更大量的) if they do this for a long time.

Dolphins are my favourite animals. They live in the sea. But we can see a dolphin show in Sunasia Ocean World in Dalian. They are very kind. They can jump high and they are very clever. They eat small fish.

Dolphins use sound to help them find their way, look for their food and talk with each other. Sound is just like their eyes and mouth. Nowadays, some scientists think dolphins can also help the special children to talk. So dolphins are our friends.
