Depending on your job, you may have the chance to make a kid's day while at work. Or even better, you may have memories of an adult going the extra mile just to make you smile. For a group of construction workers, the opportunity popped up in the form of a toy truck. Excited to see some building work being done in the area, a small boy paid a visit with his tiny truck as if to join the action. What happened next is something that the little one will surely value forever. 

The heart-warming moment was shot in a video that has since gone viral. Wanting to be a part of it all and hoping to see the big excavator(挖掘机)at work, the kid placed his wheeled toy under the big metal machine. The machine operator, moved by it all, was grateful and filled the toy truck with earth. With careful precision, as if it were a crucial part of the construction work being done, he made the little boy's dreams come true. While it's hard to find the location or the time from the video alone, the excitement of the kid as the machine slowly fills the mini dump truck is universally lovely. Even the other construction workers stop for a while to witness the cute scene. All the while, the kid's mom holds him firmly to keep everyone safe until the toy truck is full and the machine is still. 

While anyone can appreciate the sweetness of a group of adults taking a few minutes to put a smile on a child's face, the video has had all kinds of positive responses. For some, it brought back memories of seeing construction work and big machines when they were little and being blown away. For others, it allowed them to enjoy the unexpected delicacy of the great machine. If there's one thing we all can agree on, it's that the boy wasn't the only one who benefited from this tiny action. As one editor wrote, "I used to work in the field. I can tell you it made everyone's day. "

This is a tough spot, even if the Giants stay out west and practice in Phoenix in order to cut down on the short-week travel to California for this one. The 49ers are loaded defensively and Christian Mc Caffrey is going to test the Giants' rebuilt run defense, putting pressure on the revamped(改进过的)middle featuring Bobby Okereke. It's uncertain which quarterback will be available for San Francisco, and it could be Sam Darnold.

For my fourteenth birthday, my mom offered to take me and several friends to the city near our small town to visit a mall, eat pizza in the food court, and then catch a movie. Afterward, we would all return to my house         for a slumber party (睡衣晚会). It was just the kind of celebration a teenage girl longed for.

On the awaited day, all the friends I'd invited to join me on this birthday trip attended school - except Nora. When it came time to climb aboard the bus and ride together to my home, she still didn't show up.

During the Tang Dynasty (618-907) in China, Buddhism (佛教)  (become) very popular and there was a strong need to produce a large number of Buddhist scriptures (经文). (copy) by hand could not meet the rising demand. So, ancient Chinese craftsmen came up with new way to make lots of copies - woodblock printing. Traditional woodblock printing can be divided four main steps: writing, carving (雕刻), printing, and binding. Each of these steps involves many smaller tasks, and in total, about 30 steps (need) to create a woodblock print.

Carving is at the heart of woodblock printing because this step can make break the final print. Skilled craftsmen carve characters and pictures to create raised areas or lines will hold ink for printing. One famous example of woodblock printing is the Diamond Sutra, a Buddhist scripture(print) in 868. It's considered the "earliest dated printed book" and is kept in the British Library. This ancient art form not only shows the wisdom of our ancestors but also the beauty of Chinese craftsmanship over the centuries.

A Spanish project is attempting to use 3D-printed coral reefs to provide habitat for fish and protection for beaches and coastal communities at risk from rising seas and other damage.

Coral reefs are decreasing globally, and some scientists say we could lose 70% - 90% of our reefs due to warming ocean waters. That has all kinds of serious influences because a quarter of the world's fish live in and around reefs. Reefs are important protectors of coastal communities threatened by high waves, and they support the biodiversity (生物多样性). That led Nadia Fani and her co-founder Astrid Kramer to start Coastruction, a non-profit organization.

"Even if you start on a small scale (规模)... a square kilometer already, it could have a great impact," Fani says. "It could really protect a coast, a beach, or an area where there is a community and it needs protection because the sea level is rising. "

Being able to use 3D printing is important, because you can match individual sites. Every location is different with different coral species. "It's like everybody has a different house," Fani says. " You can take into account habitat requirements of not just the coral but also the fish that live nearby. "

Their present technology can print various shapes. The result can be an amazingly natural-looking man-made rock with plenty of corners for both coral and fish to attach themselves and make homes.

The Coastruction founders don't think they can possibly meet the global demand, so their goal is to provide the tools — like the 3D printer — for local people and develop the technology to create the artificial（人造的）coral reefs by using cheap and locally-available materials. No high temperatures or chemical additives are required, and any loose powder or sand material not used in one print will be used in the next. The 3D printer works on-site, so there's no transport of finished blocks required.

There's nothing wrong with a tomato that isn't perfectly round or a peach with an extra dimple or two; they still carry the same benefits and flavors as the versions we're used to seeing in grocery stores (食品杂货店). Farmers throw away these imperfect items, as many grocery chains won't buy them for fear that they are unsellable. However, a growing group of grocery chains are fighting to make these discarded fruit and vegetables part of consumers'  buying habits.

One such business is Imperfect Produce, a start-up that provides fresh ugly produce for consumers. Through this service, you can get up to 20 pounds of fruit and vegetables for around $20 a week. This is about a 30 percent discount compared to what's now sold in stores. Recently, the company had a major advancement when Whole Foods Market accepted their partnership and agreed to sell the misshapen produce.

While this movement might be a new trend here in the U.S., it's already gained serious momentum (势头) in Europe. In 2014, the EU announced the European Year Against Food Waste, with French supermarket chain Intermarché launching a very successful campaign called Inglorious Fruits and Vegetables and England's Waitrose selling weather blemished apples. In Portugal, a similar company to Imperfect Produce called Fruta Feia has also taken off.

Buying the unfortunate-looking produce should be attractive to consumers not only because of the affordability, but also because of the support it gives to farmers and the direct impact it has on reducing food waste and environmental pollution. When the discarded fruit and vegetables decompose, they release(释放) methane (CH.), a greenhouse gas. When released into the air, it is about 86 times as powerful as carbon dioxide (CO,) over a 20-year period. Waste is, in fact, the ugliest thing of all.
