In the past years, more and more studies have found the deadly effect of energy drinks on our bodies. The sugar, caffeine and energy supplements (补充物) in energy drinks make up a deadly mixture of ingredients that can affect your heart function and send you to the hospital!

A study by the university of Bonn, Germany found that frequent consumption of energy drinks can greatly change the way our heart functions. It is possible that many people haven't noticed the alarming side effects of energy drinks because of the way they are labelled (贴标签). Most energy drinks contain between 80 milligrams to over 350 milligrams of caffeine, sugar and energy supplements. When an energy drink is marked as a diet supplement, it may be put on the market without a "nutrition facts" label, which would show the harmful supplements that are in the drink. However, even if energy drinks are officially accepted by Food and Drug Administration (FDA), they don't have to show the number of supplements.

Energy drinks may be widely available, but they aren't the healthiest or safest choice for your body. To stay naturally energised, get organised and stay on top of your work so that you aren't having to stay up all night to complete tasks. If you'd like a natural energy increase, you could make time for some exercise, which will give you all of the energy you need!

A survey conducted by the credit card company Barclaycard showed that nearly one in ten UK shoppers admits to buying clothing only to post photos on social media for likes. After the "outfit (装束) of the day" (OOTD) makes it online, they return it back to the store. According to Barclaycard, the "try before you buy" policy of online retailers (零售商) — where people pay for clothing they order online after they try it on at home — could be leading to this rising trend.

But the rise of social media means that everyone, not just superstars, expects to build and maintain a personal brand. Since we're recording our lives and posting them online for public judgement, getting caught in the same outfits more than once should be avoided. Some, however, are moving in the opposite direction. Groups promoting "work uniforms" have increased greatly in recent years, aiming to free women from "the trouble of clothing decisions". The concept of the "capsule wardrobe (胶囊衣橱)", which calls for purchasing a small number of high-quality pieces instead of lots of trendy throwaway clothes, is also making a comeback.

As a kid, I used to like watching ads on TV; I think I even started recording them. As a big fan of All 4, I have to get rid of my dissatisfaction and tolerate (忍受) its limitation since it really offers me films and shows I like.

An event marking this year's Chinese Language Day was held on May 8 in London, bringing 100 students from six schools across the United Kingdom to celebrate the Chinese language and culture. In their paper published in the journal Nature, James Larson, David Thompson and James Hurrell describe how they used satellite data and numerical modeling to better understand the impact of western boundary currents on local climate variability and what they learned by doing so.

Boundary currents are, as their names suggest, ocean currents that are impacted by coastlines associated with land masses. They fall under two main categories, eastern and western. Eastern boundary currents are those that have an eastern boundary, which means they run against the western coast of a land mass. Western boundary currents are the converse:

In this new study, the researchers noted that prior research focusing on the impact of boundary currents has typically focused on mean climate impacts — western boundary currents, for example, are known to move huge amounts of warm water from the tropics (热带) to the mid-latitudes. Because of that, they have a major impact on wind, rain, and storms, in general.

For this study, the researchers wanted to learn more about the role western boundary currents play in local weather variability. They analyzed high-resolution satellite images and used numerical models to find associations between factors such as sea surface temperatures (SSTs) and vertical motion in the atmosphere over western boundary currents in both hemispheres (半球). More specifically, they looked for associations between SSTs and circulation (环流) of air in the atmosphere on a month-by-month basis at a localized level.

The researchers found what they describe as variability in SSTs and their influence on local atmospheric circulation, which has an impact on rainfall amounts and the vertical rise and fall of air in the atmosphere. The team sums up their findings by suggesting their work has shown that there is a mechanism that connects ocean processes to local climate variability. They suggest this finding could have an impact on weather forecasting models.
