I'm Lily. Today was a bad day. I went to the bookstore in the morning. I read a storybook, and it was very interesting. Then I wanted to buy some food. I went shopping in a supermarket. When it was my turn to pay for the food, I couldn't find my wallet. So I went back to the bookstore and looked for my wallet. I asked the salesperson, but he didn't know. Then I asked a cleaner. She said she saw it on the chair, and someone took it away. Ilost the wallet. There was sixty yuan in my wallet. I was very sad.

It's open from 9:00 am to 8:30 pm on weekdays and from 8:30 am to 9:00 pm on the weekend.

In the library, you shouldn't bring food. You should keep the library clean. You should be quiet. You can take a pen and a notebook, and then you can make notes when you find something valuable.

When you borrow books, you must follow the rules of the library. You can borrow 8books one time and keep them for two weeks. If you can't finish them in time, you may come and renew(续借) them.

There were 3 robot-shaped mascots(吉祥物) for the Hangzhou Asian Games, namelyCongcong, Lianlian and Chenchen. Congcong was yellow. It stood for the earth and harvest. Lianlian was green. It stood for the West Lake. Chenchen was blue. The name came from the Gongchen Bridge over the Hangzhou section of the Grand Canal(大运河).

My favourite sport is baseball. It is fun to play baseball, and it is fun to watch baseball games.

I went to watch the baseball game for the first time with my grandparents when I was 6. It was really wonderful. We had a good time.

I was happy to go with my grandparents. My grandfather made me love the sport.

My dad knew I loved baseball, so he gave me a baseball on my eighth birthday.

When I was 12, my friend came to me and asked me to join his baseball team. I agreed. From then on, I began to learn more about baseball. I practised a lot and learned how to play better.

My favourite baseball player is Derrek Lee. Derrek Lee joined the Chicago Cubs in2004. That year was a good year for him, but 2005 was his best year. One of my favourite things about Derrek Lee is that he is a very nice person. He never shouts at others. He always has a big smile on his face. He seems happy all the time.

The school is holding a sports meeting. Steven is reading some information about the best athletes in their school.

I have five good friends. All of them are sports lovers. This girl is Emma. She is good at tennis. She also swims well. She flies kites with her sister sometimes. She never plays football. That girl is Laura.She is good at skating. She also plays table tennis with her parents every weekend. She never plays with a yo-yo. Swimming is Bart's favourite sport. He swims really fast. He also plays football and basketball. But he doesn't play tennis. Jill and Larry are from the same family. They both like riding horses. Jill doesn't like tennis and Larry doesn't like skating.

The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge

The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is a very special bridge. It connects three special administrative regions(行政区域) in China: Hong Kong, Zhuhai, and Macao.

 The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is a very long bridge and tunnel(隧道)system. It goes over the sea, making it easier for people to travel among Hong Kong, Zhuhai, and Macao.

 The total length of the bridge and tunnel system is about 55 kilometres!That's very long!

 The bridge was built to help people travel more easily among Hong Kong,Zhuhai, and Macao. Before, it took a long time to travel among these places. But now, it takes about 30 minutes to drive from Hong Kong to Zhuhai or Macao on the bridge. It's much faster!

 The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is special because it's one of the longest bridges in the world. It also has a very special tunnel part that goes under the sea! It's a true engineering marvel(工程奇迹)!

Winter vacation is coming. Susan and her friends have a good plan.

Susan is going to Hong Kong. Hong Kong is very beautiful. She usually goes to Hong Kong by subway from Shenzhen. It's very fast.

Tim wants to go to Macao(澳门). There is no subway from Zhuhai to Macao. He should go by ship.

Tom will go to London from Beijing. It's too far. He can only take a plane.
