    Animals are great builders! They make homes to stay safe and warm.Beavers（河狸）are famous builders. They use sticks, stones and mud（泥）to build dams（水坝）in rivers. The dams make small lakes and the beavers build their homes in these lakes. Their homes have underwater doors—safe from other animals!

    Weaver birds（织布鸟）are clever too. Male weavers use long grass to weave big, hanging nests. The nests have small holes for entrance（入口）, and they hang from tree branches. This keeps their babies safe from snakes.

    Ants（蚂蚁）build underground homes. They dig many small rooms and tunnels（隧道）. Some rooms are for food, some for babies, and some for the queen ant. Thousands of（几千）ants live together in these busy "cities"!
