Fire is a powerful force(力量) of nature. It gives people heat, light, and a way to cook food. It can be a helpful friend, keeping us warm and helping us cook food. But it can also be a dangerous foe ( 敌 人). It burns and can hurt people and burn down forests and homes.

As fire is so powerful, knowing how to stay safe is important. Do you know what it takes to be a Fire Safety Superstar? Learn and follow these rules!

BE A SUPERSTAR!DO THIS:

· Know your exit ( 出 口): Find two ways out of every room.

Stay low and go: If there's smoke, crawl under it to stay safe.

 Stop,    drop    and    roll:    If your clothes catch fire, don't run! Stop where you are, drop to the ground and roll over and over to put out the fire.

DON'T BEA ZERO!NEVERDO THIS:

Never play with matches, lighters or candles.

Don't hide (躲藏) during a fire. Get outside and go to your family's meeting place.

Don't go back inside for toys or pets. Tell a fireman or another grown-up (成年人) .

Five Cool Ways Kids Can Save Water

◆ Turn off the tap while brushing.

When you brush your teeth, turn off the water until you need to wash. This saves about 3 litres (公升) of water every time!

◆ Fix leaking (漏水的) taps(with parents' help)

A small leaking tap can waste 20 litres of water a day. Tell your parents if you see a leaking tap— they can fix it.

◆ Reuse water for plants

After washing fruit or vegetables, don't pour the water down the drain ( 下 水 道). Use it to water your houseplants or garden.

◆ Take shorter showers

Try to keep showers under 5 minutes. Sing a short song (like"Twinkle Twinkle Little Star")! 

◆Don't overfill (把……装得溢出) the bath

A full bath uses more water than a short shower. Fill the bath only halfway — you' ll still have fun!

Water is very useful. It 1 from the sea, the rain and the tap. We use water to wash our hands, 2 vegetables and grow crops. Firemen use it to put out fires.
