Your comfort zone(舒适区) is a place, an activity or a situation in which you feel free from worries and things are within your ability or control.  When you break free and try new things, you'll be more productive and get more unexpected changes.

Here are some ways to break out of your comfort zone without going too far.

Do everyday things differently.  Try a different diet. Don't be upset if things don't work out in the way you planned.

  If you think the challenge you've picked for yourself is so difficult that you can't rise to

it, don't do it at once. You can make it a multi-step(多步骤的) process that will let you slowly climb that mountain.

Trust yourself and make snap(匆忙的) decisions. Perhaps you are more comfortable weighing all of the possible choices several times, but sometimes making a snap call is just in order to get things moving.  

However, you can't live outside of your comfort zone all the time. You need to come back from time to time to review your experiences. In this way, you can put what you've got into your day-to-day activities.  It's a natural state. Don't take your comfort zone as something holding you back.We all need that headspace(精神状态)where we're least worried and stressed so we can process the good we get when we leave it.

Can a one-armed person play basketball? You might not think so until you see ZhangJiacheng play.

The 13-year-old boy from Guangdong has recently become an Internet sensation(引起轰动的人). His basketball videos have been viewed(观看) by more than 50 million people.  

"You are an inspiration(鼓舞) for us. You don't take‘no' for an answer, and you find the way to overcome and get out there on the basketball court(球场),"  

However, it wasn't easy for Zhang to step onto the court. At the age of five, Zhang lost his right arm in an accident. Although it was difficult at first, Zhang gradually got used to eating and getting dressed on hisown.  

In the summer of 2018, Zhang first discovered his love for the sport when he signed up for a PE class in his school. Soon, he was seldom seen without a ball in his hand.   When the class was learning how to skip rope(跳绳) which takes two hands, he asked his teacher to let him do basketball training instead.

  Zhang said, "With the encouragement of all these people, I feel like I have to try harder to live up to people's expectations(期望). I will do better and improve myself."

How will geography influence your life? For some children around the world,the environment they grow up in has a great influence on their lives. This is the case in Madagascar, an island country in Africa, where a 3D-printed school is now being built.

Maggie Grout was just 15 years old when she set up a non-profit(非营利的) organization called ThinkingHuts. Now 22, she is raising money to build a series of 3D-printed schools powered by solar energy. She led the whole process from start to finish, asking university professors for help. They chose Madagascar not only because it needs more schools, but also because many children in that country seldom have the chance to get a good education. Moreover, it has a lot of sunshine, which can be made into energy to power things.

Maggie then drew a design for the school. She thought about what the people might need and where they worked best. Next, Maggie found an architect(建筑师) and a 3D printing company for the job. To make it environmentally friendly, they used a special 3D printer to build the school. It meant using up to 50 percent less concrete(混凝土) and producing fewer CO₂ emissions. Besides, the school could be completed in just a week. They also used local materials to build the doors, windows and roofs.

What's more, Thinking Huts trained local workers to use a 3D printer so that they could build more schools on their own in the future. Maggie plans to print more new schools in other parts of Madagascar because about one in five children don't even have the chance to attend primary school there.

So far, Maggie's charity has already raised $125,000. "It's not so bad! Of course, we need more,"Maggie told Spring Wise website, hoping more people could join her. Maggie has set a good example for us,and we should do something to support Thinking Huts.

Why is music an important subject that every child should study?

Scientists say that music helps children with language learning. Singing simple songs is good for young children. Music improves their hearing, and we know that children who have studied music can learn foreign languages more easily and pronounce them far better. Students who have learnt to play music are also better at maths. This is not surprising, as music is mathematical, with notes in order. Playing music with other people also teaches children to work together. People who can play musical instruments(乐器) always have something they can do at a party. Older children who play in school bands and orchestras(管弦乐队) enjoy school life more and do not drop out of school(离校) early.

You need a lot of practice to play an instrument, and it can be difficult to persuade(说服) your child to spend hours in playing the piano or playing the guitar. So music practice should be a daily habit—— for example, every day after school—— but do not make the practice too long.

Parents should listen to their children playing and tell them that they enjoy it. Practice should also be fun. It is also a good idea to finish the practice with a piece of music the child likes, and learning music will be a pleasant part of the day.
