The Spring Festival just passed. Did you get together with all of your family members during the holiday?  Family members not only gather during holidays, but often live under one roof year-round. However, different cultures have different family values. Families in the East and West are very different from each other.

In most East Asian cultures, extended families(大家庭) are common. These families have three or even four generations(代) living together. According to The Atlantic, 90 percent of children in Shanghai and70 percent of children in Beijing were being cared for by grandparents.  

In many Western countries, most families are nuclear families.  The duties parents have toward their children can also be different.

In China, many parents look after their children all the way into adulthood. It's normal for parents to pay for their children's college, help them find a job, or buy them an apartment.  In most Western countries, however, kids usually move out of the house after they turn 18. Many of them get loans(贷款)and work part-time jobs in order to pay for college and rent. If they choose to keep living with their parents after becoming an adult, it can be seen as a failure on their part.

While the East cares more about close family bonds, the West values privacy and independence. Families will always be a source of love, warmth, and care for people around the world.

Everyone needs friends.  It is nice to have a friend to talk with, laugh with and do things with. Certainly, sometimes we need to be alone. We don't always want people around. But we may feel lonely if we don't have a friend.

No two people are the same.  That doesn't mean that they no longer like each other. Most of the time they will make up and become friends again.

Sometimes friends move away.  We miss them very much, but we can call them and write to them.  It is surprising to find out how much we can like new people when we get to know them.

There's more good news for people who have friends. They live longer than people who don't. Why? The reason could be that they are happier.  Or it could be just knowing that someone cares about you. If so, you take better care of yourself.

Sometimes we feel we have tried our best but nothing comes.  The only way is to think differently. Keep trying and make things better for you.

It's a very good way to find people who have gone through the same thing as you have, and because they know the difficulties, they will help you better. When you start learning from others, you may find the secret to their success.

Do What Works.

You will not get what you want,  For example, many people turn to computer games to feel better, but this will only waste their time. Think about your goals and make steps towards them.

Let Go of Your Past.

To move on, you must let go of the past. The negative(消极的) feelings are always going to take you to another way.  Forgive(原谅) the people who hurt you in the past and go for the future.

There are many different (植物) in the zoo. The monkey can play in the  (树). Also, they can play under the tree on hot days. Sheep and horses can eat the  (草)when they are hungry. Bees and butterflies are flying over different kinds of  (玫瑰花).They are very beautiful. There is a  (玉米) plant near the flowers. The corn taste s so sweet and it is healthy.

Qiqi: Yes, please. I'd like some (面条).

Waitress: What would you like to drink?

Qiqi: A glass of  (牛奶), please.

Miaomiao: I'd like some (米饭) and some (水).

Waitress: Would you like to try a new (蛋糕)?

Congcong & Jack: Okay, we like sweet food.

Waitress: Anything else?
