Helen wants to win a prize in singing, too. She practices a lot every day, but Mary still wins the prize.

Helen is not happy and she talks with her mom. Her mom tells her, "The sparrow(麻雀) is small, but it flies fast. The seagull(海鸥) is slow, but it flies far. You and Mary are just like the sparrow and the seagull.You are good at writing stories, and Mary is good at singing. You both have your own shining points."

After that, Helen doesn't feel sad anymore. She learns that everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. So she decides to organize her time and manage her studies better.

Jason met Ning's family and (看见) a round dinner table. Jason's family ate at a round table, too. But this table had a smaller, spinning table on top. It was full of little bowls. Ning (指向) to a chair. "This chair is for guests," she said. "Please sit here."

Ning taught Jason to eat with (筷子). Jason picked up some chicken on his first try! It tasted good!

Ning's family talked about some (有趣的) things. They were happy. After lunch, Jason told his mom, "I feel like I just ate in China. The food tasted great!"

There are 365 days in a year. We sleep 8 hours a day, so we have about 122 days for sleeping. Then we have about 243 days left for work. But there are 52 weekends in a year. Each weekend has two days. We lose another 104 days a year from work. It takes us about one hour to have breakfast and supper. This comes to about 15 days over a year. But we can't work all the time. We need a holiday. Let's say we have three weeks'holiday. We don't work all day. Four free hours each evening take up about 61 days. We have to remember that we get 2 days' holiday at Easter,3 at Christmas and 1 at New Year. There are also 4 bank holidays. Take these 10 days away and we have about 32 days for work, but then we have one and a half hours' lunch every day and half an hour' s coffee break. That comes to about 30 days a year. This means that we have only a few days left for work every year!

At the age of 73, Chen Shaoqin from Beijing has shown the world how life should be lived. Though she only had a middle school education, Chen began studying English at the age of 40 and passed the college entrance exam, turning herself from a factory worker into a white-collar employee in an international business company.

Chen kept learning after retirement(退休), studying art and finally becoming an art guide at the age of67. Over the past five years, she has been guiding visitors at the UCCA Center for Contemporary Art for three days a week.

As a guide, she is able to attend professional(职业的) training meetings and has the opportunity to learn from the organizers and artists, giving her motivation(动力) to continue learning. From a retiree(退休人员) who knew nothing about contemporary art to an experienced volunteer guide, Chen's hard work and love for learning have inspired so many people. Chen has guided many exhibitions over the years, including those of famous artists like Zeng Fanzhi, Xu Bing, Qiu Zhijie and Pablo Picasso.     ▲      . It's also a new opportunity to learn and be moved.
