1、阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。
Are you chillaxed enough? Recently, having a sense of ease seems to have become one of the most important qualities that a person should have to be seen as successful and attractive.
The discussion arose from a previous incident. A family's luggage(行李) was rejected for shipment, but they continued their journey like nothing bad had happened. A girl witnessed their calm attitude in difficult circumstances and shared the story online. She described their attitude as being chillaxed, meaning to stay calm in the face of barriers. With the phrase gaining more attention, an increasing number of people have shared their chillaxed lives online.
In psychology, maintaining a sense of ease is similar to "psychological resilience", which refers to the ability to effectively adjust and adapt to tough situations, particularly by being mentally, emotionally and behaviorally flexible to pressure. It stresses a drive for success, steadily advancing toward a goal, and being prepared to accept any outcome without complaining.
In both work and study, many people get anxious or even collapse when faced with short-term bottlenecks. Therefore, they hurriedly seek immediate changes, which in most cases prevents them from achieving the desired result. Rather than going after immediate outcomes, it's more significant to maintain steady, gradual progress and adopt a long-term mindset.
Interestingly, as the Internet becomes filled with hashtags(标签) like "only those who are chillaxed are attractive", many people are beginning to feel anxious because they don't fit that description. Still, it's important to note that while a state of ease may be favorable, there's nothing wrong with not being chillaxed. Indeed, many people achieve their goals by pushing themselves to their limits, though feeling frustrated at pressure from time to time. But as long as you are fighting for your ideal life, you're definitely someone who's appealing and respectable no matter whether you're chillaxed or not.
(1)、 Why is the family's experience mentioned in the passage?A、To present the origin of the word "chillaxed". B、To show the family's ability to stay chillaxed. C、To highlight the importance of being chillaxed. D、To argue against the rejection of luggage shipment.(2)、What's highlighted in psychological resilience?A、Quick forgetting of challenges. B、Dependence on external factors. C、Flexibility and steady progress. D、Seeking quick fixes to problems.(3)、What's the author's attitude towards being chillaxed?A、Favorable. B、Objective. C、Dismissive. D、Unclear.(4)、Which of the following is the best title for the passage?A、Pros and Cons of Being Chillaxed B、Remaining Chillaxed Helps to Settle Conflicts C、A Chillaxed Attitude: Shortcut Towards Success D、Being Chillaxed: The Art of Psychological Strength -

Zhai Yuliang becomes extra busy whenever the holidays are around the corner. The Beijinger, in his 60s, has just finished a pair of palace lanterns for a courtyard home in the capital.
"The owner wants every part of them to be done in the old-fashioned way, so that they will fit perfectly with the grand style of their historical house." says Zhai, who has practiced the craft for more than four decades. When The Alchemist was first published twenty-five years ago in my native Brazil,no one noticed.A bookseller in the northeast corner of the country told me that only one person purchased a copy the first week of its publication. It took another six months for the bookseller to unload a second copy. And who knows how long it took to sell the third. At the end of the year,my original publisher decided to cancel our contract.I was forty-one and upset.
But I never lost faith in the book. Why?Because it was me in there, all of me,heart and soul.I was living my own fantasy.A man sets out on a journey, dreaming of a beautiful or magical place,in search of some unknown treasure. At the end of his journey, the man realizes the treasure was with him the entire time.I was following my personal legend (传奇) and my treasure was my talent to write. And I wanted to share this treasure with the world.
I started knocking on the doors of other publishers. One opened, and the publisher on the other side agreed to give The Alchemist a second chance.Slowly, through word of mouth,it finally started to sell—three thousand, then six thousand, ten thousand — book by book, gradually throughout the year.
Eight months later,an American visiting Brazil wanted to translate the book and help me find a publisher in the United States. But it still took some time to sell, slowly finding its audience in the United States by word of mouth, just as it did in Brazil. And then one day,Bill Clinton was photographed leaving the White House with a copy. Then people from different walks of life were suddenly talking about it.
The Alchemist became a phenomenon. The book hit The New York Times bestseller list and stayed there for more than three hundred weeks. It has since been translated into more than eighty different languages, and is widely considered one of the ten best books of the twentieth century.

Plants don't have ears or a central nervous system, but new research out of the University of Missouri has demonstrated that they might still have the ability to "hear".More specifically, plants have been shown to exhibit an immune(免疫) response to the mere sound of a hungry insect.
For the study, researchers played the sound of a caterpillar chewing to a group of plants, which caused slight vibrations(振动) on the plants' leaves. The plants were able to recognize these vibration patterns as danger, and responded by mounting the appropriate immune response. In other words,it appears that plants can "hear" themselves being chewed on.
Researchers assume that plants achieve this remarkable ability thanks to proteins that respond to pressure found within their cell membranes.Vibrations cause pressure changes within the cell, which can change the behavior of the proteins;however, additional study will be required to confirm or deny this theory.
Once researchers identify the exact mechanisms at play in this process,it could lead to advances in crop protection.Farmers could potentially learn to use sound to cause a plant's natural chemical defenses against insect threats, rather than turning to poisonous chemicals.
"We can imagine applications of this where plants could be treated with sound or genetically engineered to respond to certain sounds that would be useful for agriculture," said study author Heidi Appel.
The study adds to the growing list of ways that plants have been shown to sense their environments. They are not the boring organisms that many people assume they are.For instance, some plants are able to communicate with each other and signal upcoming danger to their neighbors by releasing chemicals into the air.Plants can respond to light(think about sunflowers) and temperature. Some can even respond to touch, such as the Venus flytrap(捕蝇草),which snaps shut when an insect stimulates its hairs.
(1)、Why did researchers carry out the study?A、To find out if plants can react to sounds. B、To learn how plants recognize dangers. C、To discover if plants can shake their leaves. D、To see how plants improve immune systems.(2)、What's the potential use of researchers' discovery?A、To remove insects. B、To protect crops. C、To treat plant diseases. D、To produce chemicals.(3)、What does the author intend to tell us in the last paragraph?A、There are more plants than we know. B、Plants are more active than we think. C、Plants fit in well with their environments. D、Lots of secrets about plants remain unclear.(4)、What can be the best title for the text?A、Can plants "talk" with each other? B、How do plants make use of sounds? C、Can plants "hear" themselves being eaten? D、How do plants defend themselves against attacks? -

We tend to think of plants as the furniture of the natural world. They don't move, they don't make sounds, and they don't seem to respond to anything—at least not very quickly. But as is often the case, our human's view of the world misses quite a lot.Plants talk to each other all the time. And the language is chemical.
Over the years scientists have reported that different types of plants, from trees to tomatoes, release compounds(化合物) into the air to help neighboring plants. These chemical warnings all have the same purpose—to spread information about one plant's disease or infestation so other plants can defend themselves. But exactly how plants receive and act on many of these signals is still mysterious.
In this week's Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, researchers in Japan offered some explanations. They had identified one chemical message and traced it all the way from release to action.
The scientists looked at tomato plants infested by a common pest, the cutworm. The researchers studied leaves from exposed and unexposed plants. They found one compound showed up more often in the exposed plants. The substance is called Hex Vic.When the scientists fed Hex Vic to cutworms,it knocked down their survival rate by 17%.The scientists identified the source of Hex Vic,and sprayed it lightly over healthy plants. Those plants were then able to start producing the cutworm-killing Hex Vic.Researchers confirmed that un-infested plants have to build their own weapon to fight off bugs and diseases. How do they know when to play defense? They are warned first by their friendly plant neighbors.
It is a complex tale, and it may be happening in more plant species than tomatoes. It may also be happening with more chemical signals that are still unknown to us.For now though,we know that plants not only communicate, but they look out for one another.
(1)、What does paragraph 1 intend to tell us?A、How plants communicate is still a mystery. B、Enough attention has been paid to plant talk. C、Plants are the furniture of the natural world. D、Plants can communicate with each other.(2)、According to paragraph 2,it is unknown ____.A、how plants receive and handle the signals from their neighbors B、why plants spread chemical information to their neighbors C、how many types of plants release compounds into the air D、whether plants send chemical warnings to their neighbors(3)、What does the underlined phrase "knocked down" mean?A、Hit. B、Decreased. C、Expanded. D、Increased.(4)、What may be the best title for the passage?A、Survival of Plants B、Plant World C、Talking Plants D、Plant Bug killer -
