Everyone dreams of success in their life, don't they? Even as a teenager, you can achieve success in your life; it really isn't that hard. 

Do well in school.

No matter how boring it is now, education will help you be a productive member in society. Try your best for excellence in school; listen to the teachers, do your homework, study, and get good grades. Doing so will help you get into a better university, which will enable you to have a bright future. 

Do good in your community(社区).

Volunteering can not only improve your community's status, but it could make you happier. Studies show that people who volunteer are less likely to develop depression (抑郁)than people who don't. For example, if you love animals, volunteer at an animal shelter. If you love helping the environment, plant trees or pick up litter. When you help others, it will make you feel better about yourself. 

Remember, they're there to help you be the best that you can be. Respect them and value their opinions, even if they annoy you sometimes.  You don't get to choose your teachers or your family, but you still have to put up with them. Learn how to deal with people now, because when you're an adult, you don't get to choose your boss or your co-workers, so learn how to respect them now.

Some students are making big decisions in their life: Which universities should they apply to? I also noticed that many high school students in China are thinking of studying at universities abroad. Unluckily, from what I've seen, the information given by very limited and sometimes even wrong.

There was once a Chinese girl who hoped that she could go to Columbia University in the US because she wanted to major in journalism. Columbia has a very famous graduate programme in journalism. However, it has no journalism programme at the undergraduate（本科生）level! What's more, in both Canada and the US, it's not suggested that students throw themselves into journalism right after high school. School says that students should take in more knowledge about the world and writing before entering that field.

The University of Waterloo, a Canadian university famous for its engineering programme, is another example. The emphasis(重视) of engineering in this school may go beyond your expectations. According to our teachers, this university spent millions of dollars building a library just for engineering students. The school's computer science, mathematics and accounting are also great programmes for students.

But, to be honest, according to my friends who have visited this university, the campus and the food are not very nice. Maybe this is because the school stresses its academic strengths too much, thereby paying little attention to personal comforts. 

Now you see, choosing a university is really not that easy. We need to do good research and consult as many people as possible before making a decision. 

What a day! I started at my new school this morning and had the best time. I made lots of new friends and really liked my teachers. I was nervous the night before, but I had no reason to be. Everyone was so friendly and polite. They made a good impression on me. 

The day started very early at 7∶00 a. m. I had my breakfast downstairs with my mom. She could tell that I was very nervous. Mom kept asking me what was wrong. She told me I had nothing to frightened of and that everyone was going to love me. If they didn't love me，Mom said to send them her way for a good talking -to. I couldn't stop laughing.

My mom dropped me off at the school gate about five minutes before the bell rang. A little blonde(金发的) girl got dropped off at the same time and started waving(招手) at me. She ran over and told me her name was Abigail. She was very nice and we became close straight away. We spent all morning together and began to talk to another outgoing girl called Stacey. The three of us sat together in class all day and we even made our way home in the company of each other. It went so quickly. Our teacher told us that tomorrow we would really start learning and developing new skills. 

I cannot wait until tomorrow and feel as though I am really going to enjoy my time at my new school. I only hope that my new partner feel the same way too. 

"Early to bed and early to rise make a man healthy, wealthy and wise. " This is an old English saying. It means that when we go to bed early, we can get up early the next morning. Then we will become healthy. We will also become rich and clever.

This is true. To be healthy, we must have enough sleep. Experts (专家）say that adults should get seven to eight hours of sleep a night. Teenagers need nine to ten hours. And school-aged children may need more than ten hours of sleep. Children who do not have enough sleep can't do their work very well. They won't be wise and they may not become wealthy!

We also need exercise. Walking, running, swimming and playing games are all exercise. Exercise keeps us strong. It also helps the blood to move around the body. This is very important. Our blood takes the nutrition (营养）from food to all parts of our body. 

The head also needs blood. So exercise that moves the blood to our head helps us think better! 

Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival

Where: Becket, Massachusetts

Each summer, this influential dance center presents a number of classes and performances by more than 50 companies from around the world. Highlights (最精彩的部分) in this season include the Dance Theater of Harlem's production of Alvin Ailey's"The Lark Ascending", which opens the festival.

Moab Music Festival

This area is better known for mountain biking than for music. But since 1992, it has hosted a private festival that brings classical, jazz, Latin and other types of music to the land. This year there will be 16 concerts, including three "Grotto Concerts", where guests take a 45-minute boat ride down the Colorado River to performances.

Cheyenne Frontier Days

Where: Cheyenne, Wyoming

When: July 19-28

There's something for everyone at this 117-year-old festival, from an "Indian village" and Old West museum to country concerts. But the competition is still the main attraction, with cowboys and cowgirls competing for major money in the world's largest outdoor stage.

The Glimmerglass Festival

Where: Cooperstown, New York

This year's performances include Wagner's "The Flying Dutchman" and Verdi's "King for a Day", in honor of the 200th birthdays of both composers (作曲家).

I experienced the Naadam Festival in China's Inner Mongolia in this year. Naadam meant "games" in Mongolian. It's represented by three events: horse racing, wrestling or archery, which are all so exciting to watch. Before the game, the competitors sang and danced happily, waved their arms. After these amazing performance, the wrestling competition began.

I absolute enjoyed the horse races. However, I was surprised that the riders was children of the same age with me. In beginning, I was worried about their safety, but the locals said they enjoyed them by riding horses all the life. At that moment I started to understand what people say "Horses are at the heart of Mongolian culture. "
