We all know that people have much more stress (压力) than before. Luckily, a new study has found an easy way to solve the problem. According to the researchers of the study, small green plants on the desk can greatly reduce people's stress.
60 people from different jobs took part in the study. Half of them worked without any plants, while the other half worked with plants on their desks. Then a standard test was used to find out their stress levels. More than 90% of the office workers showed a lower stress level after taking only a three-minute rest to look at their plants.
The study has also found that it does not matter whether people looked at their plants or only had the plants near their computers. Only if people could see green plants for about a week in their working places, their stress levels changed greatly. This finding worked for everyone no matter how old they were and what their jobs were.
"People used to go out of their houses and enjoy themselves in nature, but now they have less time to do so," one of the researchers said, "Lucky for them, our study has found out that a small green plant is as useful as a large forest. "

How to build a personal brand (品牌)
People tend to think about a personal brand as bragging (自吹自擂) , self- promotion and all about yourself. But it's actually something much more important. In other words, it's how people see you. Below are some suggestions to build a strong personal brand.
Figure out your goal. What do you want your personal brand to help you achieve? Are you looking to change jobs or enter a new industry, and you need your brand to reflect a new skill set?
Get clear on what you want to be known for. Are you a teacher who focuses on social and emotional learning? Or maybe you're a project manager who is reliable and always gets things done on time. Dig deeper into the what, how and why behind your work so you can make it easy to remember.
I once coached someone who called herself a "death midwife", which no one understood. But when she started introducing herself as a grief advisor who works with families during a time of loss, all of a sudden everyone got it.

In the digital age, we are becoming accustomed to technological innovations, and the fact that they can have a deep impact on our lives.
The number of the smartphone adult users has reached 85 percent in the UK population. Meanwhile streaming and 5G tech are changing the way we watch movies, TV shows and sports events. But Artificial Intelligence(AI) is probably the biggest game-changer of them all. The biggest impacts have nothing to do with robots or even digital assistants like Google Home. Here are two real-world applications of AI that are already changing our world for the better
One is better medical diagnose. If you had some illness, would you want to be diagnosed by a doctor or a machine? You'd probably say the former, but in reality, the question is not that simple. Today, human expertise and AI work side by side to make faster, better diagnoses. Think of it this way—a doctor can spend an hour reading six or seven cases while AI can do six or seven thousand in seconds and then present the doctor with a range of possible medical conditions along with their related probabilities.
The other is reducing fraud( 欺 诈 ) . Fraud against big businesses seems nothing to do with us. In fact, it often ends up affecting us all, especially when insurance companies, for example, are forced to increase the premium( 保 费 ) to cover losses. AI is being used more and more in insurtech, both to speed up the claim( 索 赔 ) process and to mark possibly fraudulent claims more reliably. It does this by analysing big data trends. Faster processing and reduced fraud are good news for everyone, and that can save money for us.
(1)、What has affected the way of our lives most?A、Reading books. B、Digital assistants. C、Smart robots. D、Artificial Intelligence.(2)、What does the underlined word "expertise" mean in paragraph 3?A、Professional knowledge B、Interesting hobbies C、Medical conditions D、Scientific research(3)、What can be inferred from the last paragraph?A、AI can benefit us a lot. B、AI can help us earn money. C、AI makes the claim process slow. D、AI makes us increase the premium.(4)、What is the best title for the text?A、How AI Is Reducing Fraud in Our Live. B、How AI Is Touching All Our Lives for the Better. C、What Advantages AI Is Bringing to Medical Diagnose. D、In What Aspects AI Is Changing the Way of Entertainment. -

A short while ago, I lost access to my We Chat account. I am not sure why it wouldn't let me log in; perhaps it was my ancient, out-of-date phone. But I wasn't upset because it offered me an opportunity to take a break from social media-something more and more people are doing.
In the United States, Twitter and Facebook has seen a 44 percent decline among its younger users. Stars such as Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeren have taken a break from social media because they were tired of so many Internet trolls leaving negative comments. Ordinary people (like me) are turning away from it because of the feeling that they were spending more time online and enjoying less.
It is not unusual for people to spend two or three hours a day posting or reading posts, to the point where it becomes an addiction. And it is an addiction. There is a chemical in your brain known as dopamine (多巴胺) which is sometimes called the "reward molecule"and its release gives you a feeling of pleasure. For instance, when you post a photo on We Chat and get a hundred likes, you feel happy. That's dopamine at work.
In my case, being off We Chat is actually an added bonus. No doubt I missed my dopamine. And I got e-mails from friends wondering if I was fine or if I was just being anti-social. But I soon began to feel quite peaceful and started to worry less about what other people were doing and concentrate more on my personal life. And I'm getting better sleep at night.
I'm not advocating that all of you quit social media, but spending less time on these platforms does bring you advantages.
(1)、How did the author feel after he lost access to We Chat account?A、Calm. B、Worried. C、Disappointed. D、Surprised.(2)、Why does the author list famous stars in paragraph 2?A、To illustrate the importance of social media. B、To compare them with ordinary people. C、To give examples of quitting online platforms. D、To show the popularity of social media.(3)、What does the underlined word probably mean?A、Desire. B、Benefit. C、Mission. D、Joy.(4)、What might the author continue talking about?A、How to form good online habits. B、How to use social media properly. C、How to be smart online learners. D、How to cut down the time spent online. -

From McDonald's to Sonic, fast food had a bad effect on my waistline and my budget (预算). It was so easy to use my card for a small purchase (购买). For me, I got a lot of satisfaction from fast food.
One day I realized that I was spending a surprising $40 a week on fast food. This was a lot of iced coffee and hamburgers! I decided to give myself a tight budget to reduce my consumption. Every Monday I placed an envelope with $20 in my purse. That was my fast food budget for the whole week. If there was anything left over at the end of the week, it would be mine to save or spend. If I spent all of the money during the week, there would be no more fast food that week.
The budget made me more mindful of my purchases. Instead of purchasing a large drink from Sonic, I would purchase a small one. It was still satisfying but not nearly as expensive. Instead of eating a whole meal, I would pick the part that I actually wanted. I never really felt unhappy because it was a wise choice to spend or save with each purchase.
The envelope budget kept me honest. I had a clear idea how much money was spent each week on fast food purchases. I started to bring my lunches more often to save more money for the week. It was a fun challenge to see how much I could save every week.
Changing the way I spent on fast food not only helped my budget, but watched my weight. Now I am more likely to bring my lunch than to buy it. I am not upset, but allowed to make positive choices to improve my life.
(1)、What do we know about the author according to Paragraph 1?A、She had no time to cook for herself. B、She was fond of fast food very much. C、She lived with a small amount of money. D、She got some benefits from using her card.(2)、Why did the author set her envelope budget?A、To buy fast food at a good price. B、To save money to buy fast food. C、To get rid of the habit of eating fast food. D、To make fast food spending under control.(3)、What can be inferred from the last paragraph?A、It is unusual to make some changes. B、It is hard to enjoy a healthy lifestyle. C、The budget means the pressures of life. D、The envelope budget is good for health.(4)、What is the passage mainly about?A、Why the author became addicted to fast food. B、How fast food controlled the author's behavior. C、How the envelope budget changed the author's life. D、Why the author took the envelope budget seriously. -
