However, more volunteer trips (take) place within the same countries in recent years. Sanlian Lifeweek magazine commented that volunteer projects in rural areas are now attracting more urban visitors a break from the fast and stressful pace of urban living.
The Internet has helped make community service in general more popular. (volunteer) in other countries became as accessible as browsing a website and signing up. Instead of travelling with a group that is organised at the volunteer's home base, the volunteer may join a group that gathers at the worksite from all over the world. Sometimes, this sort of volunteer travel (refer) to as voluntourism or vacanteerism.
People try volunteer travel for several reasons. By working voluntarily while travelling, travellers make a real, positive impact on the world. One weekend in July, Jane and her husband, Tom, had driven three hours to camp overnight by a lake in the forest. Unfortunately, on the way an unpleasant subject came up and they started to quarrel. By the time they reached the lake, Jane was so angry that she said to Tom. "I'm going to find a better spot for us to camp" and walked away.
With no path to follow, Jane just walked on for quite a long time. After she had climbed to a high place, she turned around, hoping to see the lake. To her surprise, she saw nothing but forest and, far beyond, a snow-capped mountain top. She suddenly realized that she was lost.
"Tom! " she cried, "Help!"
No reply. If only she had not left her mobile phone in that bag with Tom. Jane kept moving, but the farther she walked, the more confused she became. As night was beginning to fall, Jane was so tired that she had to stop for the night. Lying awake in the dark, Jane wanted very much to be with Tom and her family. She wanted to hold him and tell him how much she loved him.
Jane rose at the break of day, hungry and thirsty. She could hear water trickling somewhere at a distance. Quickly she followed the sound to a stream. To her great joy, she also saw some berry bushes. She drank and ate a few berries. Never in her life had she tasted anything better. Feeling stronger now, Jane began to walk along the stream and hope it would lead her to the lake.
As she picked her way carefully along the stream, Jane heard a helicopter. Is that for me? Unfortunately, the trees made it impossible for people to see her from above. A few minutes later, another helicopter flew overhead. Jane took off her yellow blouse, thinking that she should go to an open area and flag them if they came back again.

Paragraph 1
But no more helicopters came and it was getting dark again.

The benefits of walking are many, but deciding how many miles to cover and how much time to spend walking each day is another matter.
Studies have shown that the average American takes between 3,000 and 4,000 steps daily doing everyday tings — about 1.5 to 2 miles. But the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advises most adults to aim for 10,000 steps a day or about 5 miles. And the recommendation contributes to more positive health outcomes.
You can measure your efforts in quantities of time instead. "As a walker, you should aim for at least 30 minutes per day, or a total of 150 minutes per week," says Austin, a licensed psychotherapist. What's more, if 30 minutes of walking is unrealistic for you to do all at once, then breaking it up into three short, 10-minute sessions.
It may also be helpful to health to make walking a part of one's daily routine. People can take the stairs instead of the elevator, park at the other end of the lot and walk a further distance to a store's entrance when shopping. Then walk the rest of the way home. All these additional steps can be acquired creatively, beyond fixed walking time.
On top of such physical benefits, walking has been shown to improve sleep and mental health including mood and self-esteem. Therefore, it is free and well accepted by the majority of people. If one is ready to improve overall levels of fitness, walking ticks all the right boxes.
A. Combine walking with everyday routine.
B. They will provide the same health benefits.
C. What if counting results by miles isn't your thing?
D. Still, why not get off public transportation a stop early?
E. Walking sessions should be continuous to be beneficial.
F. That amount alone has been shown to lower one's death risk.
G. Walking requires no special equipment, gym membership or training.
