After moving to the city, she began missing the farm. Faced with the limited space, Padma felt the absence of fresh vegetables. Besides, she was disappointed with the taste and quality of shop-bought vegetables. Because chemicals used on vegetables were harmful to human health, she finally decided to take matters into her own hands and change her yard into a vegetable garden.

Now 48, Padma has devoted the past 12 years to developing a garden with 200 plants of 20 varieties of vegetables. She relies on natural fertilizers (肥料). Additionally, she uses creative organic farming methods like preparing liquid fertilizers from fish.

Her husband Suresh Ettan, who is now working in an oil and gas company, said, "As I don't eat meat, I have limited food choices in the city. Now every morning, my wife sends me a good breakfast. Apart from that, she also shares the photos of her day's harvest. I take pride in showing those photos to my colleagues."

For Padma, the garden has become a source of joy and also a link to her rural roots. Padma says she finds connection to her village through the traditional recipes and taste of homegrown vegetables. More importantly, by growing her own food, the gardener has not only found a way to provide a supply of organic vegetables to her family but also a way to earn some money. Earning money was what she didn't expect. Padma says she has a small shop where she sells extra vegetables. Within an hour, all her vegetables are sold out. This organic farming business earns her up to Rs 1,000.

Named "Blazing Beacon" after the watchtowers along its walls, Dunhuang was once a vital meeting point at the gateway to China. The routes that joined here ran through Constantinople in the West and Japan in the East. But there was more to this blooming oasis than trade. For over 1000 years, Dunhuang was also an important religious site, a cultural melting pot where ideas, technologies and art flowed freely.

This exhibition provides a rare glimpse into the ordinary lives of people long ago through the remarkable contents of the Library Cave, the documents include personal letters and wills concerning multiple languages, faiths and cultures including Buddhism, Zoroastrianism, Manichaeism and Christianity; and span topics as diverse as literature, astronomy, medicine, politics and art.

Nobody  (like) to lose, but we must accept that losing is part of life. After , we can't win all the time. Although losing is unpleasant, it can be a positive thing. We can learn from every failure, which may help us succeed in the future. But first we must know how to be a good  (lose).

For one thing, we should take a positive attitude towards it. We can begin by realizing that losing is sometimes unavoidable. Therefore, we don't need to be  (embarrass). We must correct our mistakes and try again. As is  (know) to all, practice makes perfect. If we practise  (lose) by creating challenges for  (we), we will never be afraid of failure. A typical American high school has several large buildings and enough space for about 1,500 students.When students first arrive at school, they go straight to their lockers (寄存柜，有锁存物柜) to put away or get their textbooks and to hang up their outdoor clothes. The regular school day usually ends early in the afternoon. After school more than half of the students are involved in after-school activities. These activities include sports-especially football, basketball, baseball and soccer or clubs, such as yearbook, speech, school newspaper, photograph or student government.

We met in the Children's Hospital.I was 11. I was born with a hole in my heart. So was the five­year­old girl in the bed beside me.We were both recovering from the same operation.Because I was older and wiser, I thought it was my job to look after her. "Do you want to hear a story?" I asked her one afternoon."Great!" she said.

It was so easy to make her happy.She seemed always to be smiling or singing songs.

Life wasn't fair. She passed away. My recovery went well. "You're really lucky"，a nurse told me."But how come my operation was so easy and hers wasn't?" I asked."Easy?" my dad said. "David, your operation wasn't easy at all. We thought we were going to lose you. For two weeks after your operation, many things could go wrong. You're really lucky. When you were in the coma (昏迷) , she used to come over to your bed and sing to you. She was watching over you." my dad said.

My surgery scars (手术疤痕)are hidden under my shirt along with the memory of that kind little girl. She will be at my side like a small angel. I am old and wise enough now to know that I have an angel watching over me whenever life is fair or unfair.
