At the 2024 Spring Festival Gala, a breathtaking performance, with robots dancing as (grace) as humans, stole the show, blending cutting-edge technology with (art) beauty.
The dance, (feature) over 50 humanoid robots moving in perfect harmony, created an amazing and charming "digital ballet." (equip) with advanced sensors and AI algorithms, they turned round, over, and even balanced on one leg. Behind the magic was a talented team of engineers and artists from UBTech Robotics, a leading Chinese tech company based in Shenzhen. For over a year, they (work) tirelessly to design the robots' movements, combining programming skills with creative dancing. The team even drew (inspire) from traditional Chinese dance styles to give the robots a unique cultural charm!
This performance wasn't just entertainment showcased China's rapid progress in robotics and AI. It also set off interesting question: Can machines express emotions? While robots lack feelings, their perfectly timed movements and "eye" LED displays mimicked (模拟) joy and energy, making the audience cheer wildly.
For students like you, this performance, technology meets art, is inspiring. It reminds us that fields like programming, engineering, and design can coexist art. Who knows? Maybe one day YOU could join a team like UBTech and design robots that dance, sing, or even tell stories! So next time you watch a sci-fi movie, remember: the future is already here—and it dances!

19、A heartwarming video from the Manchester Marathon reminds us all not to compare ourselves to anyone else. If we're proud of our own achievements, that's what1! Lynda Elmore may have come in last during the race, but she2 crossed the finish line. She was overcome with emotion as she took those final few steps. This achievement clearly3 so much to her!
Her Sport shared the footage on the Internet, where it received over one million4. "Lynda Elmore was the final finisher at the Manchester Marathon — completing the 42.2-kilometer distance in 7 hours, 18 minutes and 18 seconds," they wrote, "Her5 is priceless. What a proud moment."
In the comment section, Lynda received6 but positive encouragement. People were truly7 that she'd finished the Manchester Marathon,8 whether she came in first or last.
"An amazing woman!" wrote one user. "She ran just as far as the winner! Never forget that." Another added, "The last person to cross that line finishes ahead of the millions who didn't even9 it."
It's not just Lynda's achievement that makes this story10, although finishing the Manchester Marathon is truly a monumental feat (壮举). Even though it took her a little while11 than the other runners, she still crossed the finish line, and everyone was still extremely proud of her. More12, she was proud of herself.
What a beautiful13 Lynda is spreading with her positive example! Always remember to give yourself14 for your achievements,15 you don't reach your goals as quickly as you expected.

20、While many of us may have been away somewhere nice last summer, few would say that we've "summered. " "Summer" is clearly a noun, more exactly, a verbed noun.
Way back in our childhood, we all learned the difference between a noun and a verb. With such a clear definition, it was easy to spot the difference. Not so in adulthood, where we are expected to "foot" bills, "chair" committees, and "dialogue" with political opponents(对手). Chances are you didn't feel uncomfortable about the sight of those verbed nouns.
"The verbing of nouns is as old as the English language," says Patricia O'Conner, a former editor at The New York Times Book Review. Experts guess that 20 percent of all English verbs were originally nouns. And the phenomenon seems to be snowballing. Since 1900, about 40 percent of all new verbs have come from nouns.
Even though conversion(转化) is quite common, plenty of grammarians object to the practice. William Strunk Jr. and E.B. White, in The Elements of Style-the Bible for the use of American English-have this to say: "Many nouns lately have been pressed into service as verbs. Not all are bad, but all are questionable." The Chicago Manual of Style takes a similar standpoint, advising writers to use verbs with great care.
"Sometimes people object to a new verb because they dislike what is unfamiliar to them," says O'Conner. That's why we're comfortable "hosting" a party, but we might feel upset by the thought of "medaling" in sports. So are there any rules for verbing? Benjamin Dreyer, copy chief at Random House, doesn't offer a rule, but suggests that people think twice about "verbifiing" a noun if it's easily replaceable by an already existing popular verb. Make sure it's descriptive but not silly-sounding, he says.
In the end, however, style is subjective(主观的). Easy conversion of nouns to verbs has been part of English grammar for centuries; it is one of the processes that make English "English." Not every coinage (新创的词语) passes into general use, but as for trying to end verbing altogether, forget it.
