1、Most parents will remember their little ones grasping their leg or being unwilling to speak to someone new. But when does this stop being a natural part of a child's growing up and become something to worry about?
Here, Heidi Gazelle, a senior lecturer in developmental psychology from the University of Melbourne, explains how shyness is of more concern if it is persistent (持续的) rather than temporary.
Shyness with other children is of more concern than shyness with adults. It is common for children to be on the alert for adults, particularly men, but less common for children around their own age.
Children who engage in very little social interaction in comparison to children of their age are missing out on these important cumulative (积累的) learning experiences. As a result, their social cognition (认知), social skills and sense of self may be less mature than those of other children around their age.
Being excluded and bullied is damaging children's emotional health and sense of self, especially when these conditions persist over time. Children need help from adults to stop exclusion and being bullied by other children. When parents become aware that their child is being excluded or bullied by other children at a childcare center or a school, they should contact the childcare center or school on their child's behalf.
Shyness is of concern if it interferes with your child's or family's routines or activities, or if your child often appears miserable or complains of being lonely. For instance, if shyness prevents your child from attending other children's birthday parties or school, or prevents your family from visiting friends, then you should consider seeking help from a child psychologist.
If a child is upset about a problem with a friend, parents can encourage the child to try to resolve the problem in a way that preserves the friendship, instead of ending the friendship, as well as encourage the child to develop other friendships.

2、55-year-old Rob Kenney, who grew up without a father, has been doing his part to make a difference in the lives of kids today.
He created a YouTube channel, called Dad, How Do I, which aims to give youths the valuable lessons a father is meant to give. Launched only two months ago, his channel already has more than two million subscribers (订阅者). Rob teaches children and adults, many of whom are also without a dad, basic skills such as how to tie a tie, how to cook meals, how to repair a lamp and many more.
"I didn't start this to make money," Rob told his viewers. "I just thought I was going to help a few people... 30 or 40 subscribers... but it's turned into a way more than that. And please don't think I am only aiming this at young men. It is for anybody who feels that they need to learn something."
Now that his channel has had such huge unexpected success, Rob plans to give his earnings to a number of international charities.
Many viewers have been touched by the warm words Rob shares in his videos. Such simple words, like "I love you", "You've done a good job" and "I'm proud of you," can have a deep impact on many children, even some adults. He starts each video with an enthusiastic "Hey, kids!" — but Keiha Danaher said that she was a 33-year-old woman, and she answered back crying, saying, "Hi, dad!"
Rob's childhood story makes him a role for the kids who watch his channel. By the age of 14, his parents had divorced. He had to move in with his elder brother and learn from the tough life experiences without parents in his life. But that didn't prevent him from being a good father to his children. His experience shows his viewers that there is always opportunity in the face of difficulties.

B、Help more children improve their intelligence. C、Let more people have sympathy for him. D、Donate the money he earns to charities.(4)、Why are the viewers moved by what Rob shares in his video?A、They think Rob is just like their real father to take care of them. 19、阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
It was a cold, snowy evening. Tommy was running as fast as he could, focused on nothing but his destination—the shop on the street corner. Two weeks ago he saw figurines(小塑像) of Marvel superheroes on the shelves and felt he had to have one. He's been walking the neighbor's dog ever since then to earn money to fulfil his little dream. He was so excited and barely noticing the world around him. Maybe that's why he tripped over the legs of a homeless woman, who was sitting on the pavement, her back against the wall. He murmured(低语) "sorry" and moved on to his destination.
Once he entered the shop, he went straight to the shelves with figurines. Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, and many more—all of his admired heroes. With his heart pounding like crazy he reached for Spiderman.
"You like these, true believer?"
Tommy turned around. An old man was standing behind him with a wide smile on his face.
"Y-yes, …Yes, they're awesome!" answered Tommy. "They're strong and fast and help other people a lot ..."the boy looked at figurines in admiration. "I wish I could be a superhero too."
"Then become one!" said the old man.
"How?" Tommy asked in surprise. "I don't have any superpowers."
"And why would you need them?" the old man smiled. Seeing the confusion on the boy's face, he squatted(蹲下) and put his hands on Tommy's arms. "Did you know that shopkeeper lady over there has a disabled husband? She's been working hard and taking care of him for years. I've never heard a word of complaint from her. And this person —" he pointed at a redhead man, who just entered the shop. "He's a firefighter; he's saved countless lives. He never gives up, no matter how dangerous the situation seems to be."
The old man looked Tommy in the eyes and smiled. "You don't need a superpower to be a hero for someone else. The path of a superhero starts not in the mind, not in the muscles, but in the heart."

1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式在相应位置作答。
Tommy lowered his head and looked at his shoes thinking intensely.

20、Overcoming Fear of Failure
Have you ever been so afraid of failing at something that you decided not to try at all? Or has fear of failure meant that, subconsciously, you undermined (削弱) your own efforts to avoid the possibility of a larger failure? It's important to realize that in everything we do, there's always a chance that we'll fail. Facing that chance and embracing it give us a more rewarding life. Here are a few ways to reduce the fear of failing.
Analyze all potential outcomes. Remove that fear by considering all of the potential outcomes of your decision. You can map possible outcomes visually.
Set small goals. Imagining how life will be after you've reached your goal is a great motivator to keep you moving forward. So start by setting a few small goals. Don't focus on the end picture. Just focus on the next step. Taking one small step at a time will help build your confidence, keep you moving towards your final goal.
Learn to think more positively. Every coin has two sides. Learn to change your thoughts and focus more on the bright side of the situation, making you like yourself. Positive thinking is an incredibly powerful way to build self-confidence.
In some cases, the toughest situation may be genuinely disastrous (灾难性的) and it may be perfectly reasonable to fear failure. In other cases, however, this worst case may actually not be that bad, and recognizing this can help.
A. Look at the worse-case situation.
B. It is up to you to decide which one to look at.
C. Failing at something can help you discover your truest friends.
D. Many of us have probably experienced this at one time or another.
E. If you are afraid of failure, you might be uncomfortable setting goals.
F. These should be goals that are slightly, but not overwhelmingly, challenging.
G. Many people experience fear of failure because they fear the unknown.
