Virginia wants to change that. Crews have fixed special viewfinders at all 43 Virginia state parks so that more visitors can experience a world of vibrant colors. The viewfinders are designed for people with red-green colorblindness, which is the most common form of the condition. Subtypes of red-green colorblindness exist, but they all affect how people notice shades with reds and greens in them.

Created by SeeCoast Manufacturing, the viewfinders are equipped with special lenses (镜头) made by EnChroma that help people with red-green colorblindness distinguish between color degrees. Similar to binoculars (双筒望远镜), the viewfinders also enlarged whatever's in view.

In Virginia, the project started last summer at Natural Tunnel State Park, located near the far western tip of the state. Natural Tunnel State Park fixed a viewfinder at an overlook that offers a 360-degree view of the surrounding scenery. That first viewfinder was such a big hit that the state decided to bring them to the rest of Virginia's state parks. Funding for the project came from donations made by visitors through the "Round-up for Parks" program.

"The colorblind-friendly viewfinders aren't the only way Virginia is making its parks more accessible. This summer, Natural Bridge State Park also began offering a free mobile app designed for people who are blind or visually damaged," reports WFXR's Thad Randasso. The app provides audio instructions in 26 languages to help users find direction in the park, and also provides real-time audio descriptions of the user's surroundings.

Recently, I had to change my thinking, when I came face to face with just such a human being. I had gone to a fashionable coffee place, with two of my grown-up daughters. The place was crowded with the usual loud crowd and we had to climb a steep flight of stairs in order to find an empty table. After enjoying coffee and snacks, we were walking down the steep stairs, where the narrow space made climbing down only possible in a single file, with hardly any space for another person to either climb up or come down.

Just as I was in the middle of the staircase, a gentleman entered the main entrance of the restaurant which was right in front of the staircase. I was sure I would be pushed roughly by this man who would want to go up in a hurry. I kept coming down as fast as I could, holding on to the banister (扶手), in spite of my advanced years. My daughters were already down, looking up at me worriedly, hoping I would reach them before the stranger started up the stairs, knowing I was a nervous sort.

Nearly reaching them, I noticed the man still standing near the door. I reached my daughters and passed the stranger at the entrance door which he kept holding open. I looked back thinking he was still at the door, deciding whether to go in or find another less crowded place. I saw him going up the stairs, two at a time. I told my daughters about it and all three of us felt bad that we did not even thank the courteous gentleman who was actually holding the door open for us ladies to pass through.

We admired his kindness for both, waiting for us to come down before going up himself and also holding the main entrance door open for us to go out. To date, I still remember this gentleman and pray to God to make more human beings like him.

Also, a few special or interesting online microblogs can be spread may become famous. As they write more microblogs, their fans may increase as well. Therefore, some people may show the lively moments when they feel happy, some may share the (humour) stories or experiences to make others laugh, and some even write novels (小说) in their microblogs. Help your child build confidence.

While those forms of media still shape new slang words and cool slang, young people now tend to spend more time online — and with that change, the Internet, and especially social media, drive most of American slang in 2025.

While the Internet and pop culture have created common slang words around the country, keep in mind that different areas of the country may use different slang words. Wherever you decide to study, you'll quickly hear the local slang — and it may even become part of your own vocabulary!
