If you've ever wondered what dreams taste like, you're in for a treat, because Coca-Cola is releasing another new limited-edition flavor to its Creations lineup. (call) Dreamworld, the latest Coke is supposed to taste like dreams.

"This limited-edition flavor is your gateway into a lively, (energy) world where anything is possible; where imaginations are free to discover the magic in ordinary moments," Coca-Cola said in press release.

The release of the new flavor is a part of the company's effort (attract) new Gen Z consumers through Coca-Cola Creations, will introduce a series of unexpected beverages and experiences across physical and digital worlds.

"Coca-Cola Dreamworldtaps into Gen Z's passion the great potential of the mind by exploring a dream tastes like," Alessandra Cascino, Coca-Cola North America Operating Unit's creative shopper program director, said in a statement. "Like the Coca-Cola Creations that came before it, Dreamworldplays with the unexpected it will no doubt provoke discovery and debate among consumers...and that we welcome."

Starting Monday, Aug 15, Dreamworldwill be available in grocery and gas (station) across the US. There will be both regular and zero-sugar options available, and it (sell) by the bottle and in cans.

This week record-breaking temperatures of more than 40'C were forecast in Britain. Schools closed and hospitals cancelled routine appointments. The Royal Air Force had to rearrange flights from its biggest air base after the runway melted. In mainland Europe, things were bleaker still. After weeks of drought, a heatwavesparked wildfires in France, Greece, Portugal and Spain. Parts of America are struggling through one of their hottest summers ever. And many places of eastern and southern China have seen unusually high temperatures in recent weeks.

Why are all of these places suffering extreme heat at the same time? Climate change has made heatwavesmore frequent. Very hot temperatures that were once rare occur more frequently and heatwavesthat were once impossible come to pass. The temperatures in Britain this week fit into the second category(II),says Richard Betts, a climate researcher with the British Met Office. Similarly, modelling carried out by the World Weather Attribution group, a research coalition, found that last year's unprecedented heatwavein the Pacific Northwest would have been "virtually impossible" without climate change. New records will be set as long as humans continue to burn fossil fuels and destroy carbon-storing ecosystems.

Whatever the cause, the consequences are disastrous. Heatwaveskill people and worsen existing health conditions. Heatwavescan cause crops to suffer, as happened this spring in India. Should you share goals or keep them private? You'll find conflicting answers if you turn to Google. Some say sharing goals cannot live up to one's expectations because you'll feel rewarded before actually doing anything to achieve them. The Arabs have for centuries voiced a similar message in the proverb "the more you surround your candle the more it remains lit". More recently, the idea became widespread in 2010 with a TED talk titled "Keep your goals to yourself".

"In most cases you get more benefit from sharing your goal than if you don't—as long as you share it with someone whose opinion you value," Howard Klein told Ohio State News. Klein and his colleagues conducted several studies on goal-sharing. In one, the results showed that working adults frequently do share goals and are more likely to be committed to achieving those goals when they're shared with people who are perceived to be of higher status.

A second study involved 171 undergraduate students who were asked to play a game. After the first round, the students were asked to play the game again, but this time they had to set a goal. The researchers separated the students into three groups. For one group, the students had to share their goals with a lab assistant who was dressed in a suit and introduced himself as a doctoral-level student in the business school who was an expert on the topic. For another group, the lab assistant was a casually dressed man who identified himself as a student at a local community college. A third group wasn't asked to share their goals with anyone.

The results showed that people who shared their goals with the high-status person not only-showed higher commitment to achieving the goal, but also performed better in the game. Meanwhile, the two other groups showed similar commitment and performance. Klein said, "You want to be dedicated and unwilling to give up on your goal, which is more likely when you share that goal with someone you look up to and whose opinion you value and which might incentivizeyou to achieve your goals."

Herb Chasancould have eased into retirement after spending 18 years teaching math to high school students. But the octogenarian couldn't rest. It wasn't until eight years ago that he stepped into one of the city's poorest neighborhoods. He noticed a group of children wandering nearby with nothing to do. He couldn't shake the image from his mind, and it became the driving force for Hoops and Homework, an after-school program that has provided activities and tutoring for youth up to age 14.

Since 2012, Hoops and Homework has helped more than 300 children who otherwise would have gone home to empty houses or roamed the streets until their parents got off work. Thanks to Mr. Chasanand dedicated staff and volunteers, the children instead have spent industrious afternoons making crafts, playing basketball, learning violin and yoga, gardening, and basking in the attention of a small army of tutors. "Our goal is to help these kids break the cycle of poverty and jail to have a good job, to be a success," says Mr. Chasan.

Within a few months, he secured $81,000 in town funding to start the program. It takes $170,000 annually to run the center. Hoops and Homework has encouraged people from different parts of the community to volunteer during the after-school sessions because they can tell the children "someday you may be doing that job, we love to have role models come in."

The program goes beyond helping children. Most of the staff members are bilingual, which enables them to serve the largely Spanish-speaking community. "My English is not good," says KeilaCupid, a parent who lives close to the center. But the mother of 11-year-old Cupid is clear in expressing her gratitude for Hoops and Homework: "It's a safe space for my daughter when I am away to my English class."

Governments are struggling to find ways to limit costs to consumers as scantnatural gas reserves present yet another potential problem, exposing the continent to even more price increases and possible shortages if it's a cold winter.

In the U.K., many people will see their gas and electricity bills rise next month after the nation's energy regulator approved a 12% price increase for those without contracts that lock in rates. Officials in Italy have warned that prices will increase by 40% for the quarter that will be billed in October.

There are multiple causes for the price increases, energy analysts say, including tight supplies of natural gas used to generate electricity, higher costs for permits to release carbon dioxide as part of Europe's fight against climate change, and less supply from wind in some cases.

Analysts at S&P Global Plattssay electricity prices have risen due to strong demand from places like data centers and electric cars, but above all because of the rise in the price of natural gas used in generating plants. Utility companies' exposure to natural gas prices has increased as high-emission coal plants have been retired, while utilities face higher costs for carbon allowances required by the European Union's emissions trading system, which is aimed at reducing emissions of greenhouse gases.

The tight gas market could bite even more sharply if there's an unusually cold winter. That's because European distributors did not refill reserves reduced during last winter as they typically had done in summer months. In March 2008, when the freeze named "the beast from the east" hit Europe, industrial users in the U.K got a notice that there was a risk of interruption, although it didn't come to that.

Could Europe run out of gas? "The short answer is Yes, this is a real risk," said James Huckstepp, an analyst at S&P Global Platts. "Storage stocks are at record lows and there isn't currently any spare supply capacity that is exportable anywhere in the world.Thelonger answer is that it's hard to predict how it will play out given that Europe has never run out of gas in two decades under the current distribution system."

According to the President's Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition (PCFSN), students who performed five hours of physical activities each week improved their academic (学业的) performance. Students from programs with no physical activity, who used the extra time for classroom study, did not perform better on tests than those who gave up some study time in support of physical education.

Mike Mushawjoined the national bone marrow registry (骨髓登记) three years ago by chance. Six months later, he got a call. The 21-year-old football player's bone marrow matched a patient in Virginia. Mushawgave a second thought to the donation, because apart from some risks, he never knew whether his donation worked.

"Finally I said yes," Mushawtold the journalist. "Once they took my blood, I thought, ‘All right, this is real. This is going to happen.'"

Mushawdidn't know it at the time, but his donation would go to a five-month-old girl named Eleanor who was sick with a rare disease diagnosed when she was only three months old. Days and weeks passing, her condition had become more dire.

"Eleanor was going to die without a bone marrow transplant," her mother, Jessica, said. "The choices were to either get a transplant or die early. Luckily, Mushaw'sbone cured her."

Mushawdidn't know any of this until months after his donation. About six months after the procedure, Eleanor's parents sent him an e-mail to thank him for his selfless love.

Their surprising connection was beginning. Mushawkept checking on her progress. Eleanor focused her attention on him, too, by watching his football games on TV. In August, Mushawinvited her family to drive from Virginia to Connecticut to meet at one of his games. They had a good time together.

In January, Mushawreunited with Eleanor, this time in Virginia, to celebrate her birthday. It will likely be first of many celebrations together. "As a parent, it feels really great to watch someone love your kid as much as you do," Jessica says. "We were two complete strangers, and now we've become such a big part of each other's lives."

You may have recently seen a video from the Beijing Wildlife Zoo becoming a hit. What exactly was so interesting about this video? It shows a dog playing with big cats four to five times its size! Many people might wonder if this dog has a death wish, but it seems that the dog and the big cats are good friends.

The dog was actually raised alongside the lion and tiger cubs, making up an odd but loving family, according to zoo officials. As opposed to the common belief, cross-species friendship has been around for centuries. People have domesticated many animals, most notably cats and dogs, and formed bonds with them as pets. Perhaps you even have a pet yourself.

There are many other instances of cross-species friendships.

At an animal sanctuary in Santiago, Chile, a jaguar named Marina and a deer named Laura formed a friendship after they both came to the park. As neither animal had a mother, sanctuary staff said they instantly bonded when they met. Laura had been rescued from a slaughterhouse while Marina had been rescued from the street.

One possible explanation for these friendships is the environment of the zoo. Animals don't hunt for their food and don't need to worry about marking their territory or looking for mates in the way an animal in the wild would. "All those activities take time and energy, and if these needs are removed, the animals get bored," Gordon Burghardt, a psychologist at the University of Tenessee, US, told The Atlantic magazine. "In this particular situation, the animal's motivation to engage socially and playfully may be higher in its need hierarchy(等级)than eating."

Marc Bekoff, former biology professor at the University of Colorado, US, told Slate magazine, "I think the choices animals make in cross-species relationships are the same as they'd make in same-species relationships. Some dogs don't like every other dog. Animals are very selective about the other individuals who they let into their lives."

Humans have been living and working on the space station for 20 years. Their meals are packaged, though sometimes astronauts receive fresh treats from resupply missions. The longer that packaged food is stored, the more it loses nutrients like vitamin C and vitamin K.

Astronauts have successfully grown 10 different crops on the space station since 2015 and had the chance to sample each one. The International Space Station hosted a party for astronauts on Friday as they celebrated the harvest of the first Chili (辣椒) grown in space. The crew finally had a chance to taste the peppers after initially kicking off the plant experiment on the space station in July. 

Plant Habitat-04 is one of the most complex plant experiments on the orbiting laboratory to date because peppers take much longer to grow than the previous experiment plants. After growing for four months, the peppers were harvested on Friday.

Peppers provide a great source of vitamin C, as well as other key nutrients. Pepper plants self-pollinate, so they are easy to grow, and they are a pick-and-eat crop that doesn't have to be cooked. They are also safe to eat raw.

A side effect of life in zero gravity is that astronauts often lose some of their taste and smell, so spicy or well-seasoned foods are a favorite. Adding fresh greens or peppers to the menu allows astronauts to liven up their regular meals. But growing and tending to the plants can also produce other benefits.

Astronauts have described the joy from seeing—as well as smelling and caring for—leafy green plants on the space station that remind them of Earth.

"Growing colorful vegetables in space can have long-term benefits for physical and psychological health," said Matt Romeyn, principal investigator for the experiment." We are discovering that growing plants and vegetables with colors and smells helps to improve astronauts' well-being."

In Rio, lifesaving is a man's job. The four-meter-high watchtowers are always manned. Alarm at tower number 5, a woman has swum too far out to sea and can't make it back to the beach by herself. One minute later the rescue team has reached the Copacabana. From a height of ten meters above the water, Luis Carlos jumps into the sea close to the helpless swimmer. His workmates on board must keep an eye on him so that they can tell the pilot in which position to keep the helicopter. Another man is in the water now to help calm the woman down and get her ready to be airlifted. The pilot must slowly control the helicopter sideways and aim carefully. Once the net is full, the helicopter slowly flies to the beach.

The air rescue team is back on duty again. In the course of the day, there are eight more emergencies. The daily record at the end of the day reads, "nothingunusual happens."

It is calculated that some of the world's 7,000 languages are in danger of getting extinct. "For example, Ainu, a language in Japan, is now seriously threatened, with only 10 native speakers remaining,"said lead study author Tatsuya Amano at the University of Cambridge in England.

The scientists found that 25 percent of the world's languages are threatened(威胁)．After identifying where the endangered(濒危的)languages were，they looked for any environmental and social or economic factors those languages might have in common, such as poor areas or rapid population growth. "We find that at the global scale, language speaker declines are strongly linked to economic growth-that is, declines are particularly occurring in economically developed regions," said Amano.

"One important finding of this new study is that languages in the tropics and Himalayan region are likely to be increasingly threatened in the near future, because these regions still have many local languages with a small number of speakers, and at the same time are experiencing rapid economic growth," said Amano.

Economic growth may endanger languages for a variety of reasons. For instance, speakers of endangered languages may view another more popular language as offering economic opportunities, and thus abandon their own languages. "There are other important factors that might endanger languages," said the researchers. For instance, policies regarding how languages are used and taught in schools can be very different among countries and even within each country, and these factors may explain more detailed patterns in language endangerment.

Amano suggested it could be possible to forecast(预见)future threats to the diversity(多样化) of languages. "There exists detailed information on future changes in the environment，economies and climates(气候)，"Amano said. "Using such information，together with the findings of this study and further analysis, we would like to understand what will happen to the world's languages, where it will happen and which languages will be threatened in particular."
