My dad is a firefighter. He gets up at a quarter to six every morning. First, he washes his  face. Then he has breakfast at half past six. He likes bread and milk. He goes to work at seven  o'clock. He does exercise every day. He waits for calls at the station. He puts out fires and helps people. 

In the evening, he comes home at a quarter past six. We have dinner at half past six. After dinner, my dad likes playing the erhu. The music is beautiful. I like listening to him. He goes to bed at ten o'clock. 

My dad loves his job. And I love him very much.

I'm Taotao, and we're students in Ms Li's class. We want to join our school talent show(才 艺表演). But we can't play the piano, sing or tell funny stories.

We think and think, and then have a great idea. We can make our own short play and act it out(表演)together. Isn't it a clever idea?

We're making paper hats and toys for the play. Yaoyao and Junjun are drawing nice pictures for the play.

We use boxes and cloth(布料)for our play. Lulu, Junjun, Yaoyao and I are doing the play again and again(反复地). 

July

We don't do well together. Ms Li helps us. I hope( 希望)we can do well at the school talent show. 

Taotao: I like Maths. I'm good at it. What subject do you like?

Junjun: I like Science. I can make a model plane. 

Yaoyao: I like Chinese. I want to learn about Chinese culture( 文化). 

Lulu: I like English. I like reading English stories. 

Taotao: It's time to have PE class. 

Yaoyao: We all like PE. 

Taotao: Let's go to the sports ground. 

Amy: Hi, Ben!Do you want to travel around the world?

Ben: Yes, I dol  I want to fly planes around the world. 

Amy: Wow, that's cool! But pilots nced good eyesight. 

Ben: You're right. I'll do eye exercises every day from now on. 

Amy: I want to be a scientist. I want to make things for all people. 

Ben: That's great. 

Amy:  No. I think I'll live in Beijing. There are many science labs( 实验室)there. 

Ben:  I hope you can work with some famous scientists there. 

Amy: Thank you! And you'll also be a great pilot in the future. 

Hello, I'm Emma. My home is a smart home with many cool devices ( 设备). I enjoy using them a lot. 

First, our  smart  lights  are  great. I  can  control  them  with  my  phone  or  voice. They  have  different  colours. For example, soft yellow for bedtime stories and bright white for homework. They also save energy. 

I  also  love  our  smart  door  lock. We  can  unlock  the  door  with  a  fingerprint, a  code, or  our  phones. It's  very convenient.  We can also make temporary( 临时的)codes for guests. 

We have a smart camera too. It helps us check on our dog when we are not at home. We can see what he is doing and talk to him. It also helps us remember if we turn off the lights. 

These smart devices are like helpful friends. They make our life easier and safer. 

Yingxian Wooden Pagoda is a very old and great building in Shanxi Province, China. People built it in 1056. It is 67. 31 metcrs tall. It is the world's tallest and oldest wooden pagoda. It is nearly 1, 000 years old!

The pagoda is made of special wood. It is very strong. From the outside, it looks like it has five floors. But it really has nine floors!There is a hidden floor between every two floors. There are windows on all eight sides. The windows help keep the wood dry. 

Now the pagoda is a popular place for visitors. But it is slightly leaning(倾斜), so tourists can only visit the first floor.
