In Xizang, there is a tree. It's very very tall. It is about 83.4metres tall! It is the tallest tree in China. Chinese scientists measured it. How did they measure this tall tree?

①Scientists climbed to the top of the tree. It took them seven to eight hours to climb to the top.

②They lowered a metal tape(金属卷尺) to the ground. The metal tape is 100 metres long.

They also found the tree is about 380 years old. It is still healthy.

Scientists used a drone(无人机) to take photos of the tree. It took more than 160photos. By putting the photos together, scientists got a full-size photo of the tree!

The Double Ninth Festival is a traditional Chinese festival. It usually comes in October. On this day, people usually go on an outing or climb mountains. Sometimes they go to see flower shows.People eat the Double Ninth cakes at this festival. The cakes are sweet and nice. The festival is also a festival for old people. On this day, people go to see their parents and grandparents. Many students visit old people in old people's homes. They get together and have a good time.

To save time, many Americans buy food which can be quickly made ready for the table. But on holidays, all the family enjoy delicious meals. For example, on Thanksgiving Day, family members get together to eat turkeys and pumpkin pies.

The United States is known around the world for its fast food, such as hamburgers, sandwiches, pizzas, salad and ice cream. People can easily find fast food chains(连锁店),such as McDonald's and KFC, in most of the big cities in the world.

These years, many people have taken more and more care of their health. They come to know eating too much fast food will make them fat. Many of them are also worried about food additives(添加剂). Some of them may be harmful to the body.

People in different places eat different things. In southern China,people eat rice almost every day. Sometimes they eat it three times a day, for breakfast, lunch and supper. Japanese eat lots of fish. They live near the sea. So it is easy for them to get fish. While in the West such as in the UK and in the USA, the most important food is potatoes. People there can cook potatoes in many different ways.

Some people do not eat meat. For example, some people do not eat pork. Some people only eat fruit and vegetables. They do not eat meat or anything else from animals. They eat food only from plants. These people are called vegetarians(素食者).

In fact, no matter what we eat every day, we should eat healthily.

Sanxingdui is a famous site in Sichuan. It has a long history of over 3,000 years. In 1934, some Chinese started studying Sanxingdui with the help of a foreigner. Then in 1986, some Chinese found eight bronze(青铜) trees. Some trees are nearly four metres high! These years, people found more fantastic things in the site. They found many figurines(雕像) and masks. Some figurines have a man's face and a snake's body. And we can see really big eyes and a wide mouth on the masks. All the things in Sanxingdui may tell stories about the history of ShuKingdom—— an old country near a river. But how could people finish these fantastic things in old days? No one knows.
