Wang Yaping,China's second woman taikonaut(中国航天员).

She was born in January,1980 in Shandong.

She joined the army(军队)when she was 17.

Her space dream started in 2003 when China sent its first taikonaut Yang Liwei into space.

Then she worked very hard.And in 2010 she became a candidate(候选人)for China's first woman taikonaut.But she didn't pass all the tests.Liu Yang became the first woman taikonaut into space.

In 2013,she flew into space with Nie Haisheng and Zhang Xiaoguang in Shenzhou X.She was the first China space teacher.The lesson lasted for about 40 minutes.

Eight years later,she gave another space lesson in China's space station.

She made history because she is the first Chinese woman to walk in space.We are very proud of her.

Many people would say the"willow twig (柳枝)".To the song Songbie,365 people carried glowing willow twigs in their hands.This showed "a bittersweet (苦乐参半的)goodbye"in a traditional and special Chinese way.In Chinese, the word for willow,"liu",sounds like the word for"stay".So in the old days,when two friends parted (离别),the travelling friend got a willow twig as a present.It was not "goodbye"but"see you again soon".

Many other traditional Chinese things were also parts of the Winter Games.There were 12 animal carts (手推车)in the closing ceremony.This idea came from the Chinese zodiac(十二生肖).And on Feb.4,the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Winter Games was held.The day was also Lichun,the first of the 24 Chinese solar terms (节气) . It shows the awakening(苏醒)of everything and the end of the cold.

More and more people like bicycling(骑自 行车)and it is no surprise.It is fun,healthy and good for the environment.Maybe that's why there are 1.4 billion bicycles and only 400 million cars on roads worldwide today.Bikes can take you almost anywhere,and there is no oil cost!

Get on a bicycle and ride around your neighbourhood.You may discover something new all around you.Stopping and getting off a bike is easier than stopping and getting out of your car.You can bike to work and benefit( 受 益)from the enjoyable exercise without polluting the environment.You don't even have to ride all the way.

Folding(折叠)bikes work well for people who ride the train.Just fold the bike and take it 

with you.You can do the same on an airplane.A folding bike can be packed in a suitcase.You can also take a common bike with you when you fly.But be sure to look for information by getting on airline websites.Not all airlines are bicycle-friendly to travellers.

Everyone knows that exercise is important.

Healthy eating doesn't just mean what you eat,but how you eat.Here is some advice on healthy eating.

Eat with others.It can help you to see others'healthy eating habits.If you usually eat with your parents,you will find that the food you eat is more delicious.

Listen to your body.Ask yourself if you are really hungry.Have a glass of water to see if you are thirsty,because sometimes you are just thirsty,you need no food.Stop eating before you feel full.

Eat breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.After you don't eat for the past ten hours,your body needs food to get you going.You will be smarter after eating breakfast.

Eat healthy snacks like fruit,yogurt or cheese.We all need snacks sometimes.In fact,it's a good idea to eat two healthy snacks between your three meals.But this doesn't mean that you can eat a bag of chips instead of a meal.

Don't eat dinner late.With our busy life, we always put off eating dinner until the last minute.Try to eat dinner at least 3 hours before you go to bed.This will give your body a chance to digest most other food before you rest for the next 8—10 hours.

Mrs.Green had a small garden behind her house,and in the spring she planted some vegetables in it.She was happy.She looked after them very carefully,and when the summer came,they looked very nice.She was proud of the vegetables.

The elephant is the largest of all animals that live on land.An elephant's trunk(象鼻) is rather like an arm and a hand.It is used to pick up and put things in its mouth.It is also used to pull up trees when the elephant wants to make a path(道路)through the forests.

The African elephant is usually larger than the Indian elephant.It often stands 10 or 11 feet high,and weighs over 6 tons (吨). Both males (雄性)and females grow tusks(象牙).But only male Indian elephants have tusks.

The elephant lives mostly on grass,leaves and fruits.It has been easy for men to train elephants.They are used to carry heavy things. Elephants can live for about fifty years or more.
