It's Sunday afternoon. Lucas and his sister Emma are helping their mom clean the kitchen after lunch. Their mom is busy preparing for dinner, so they want to do their part.
First, Emma says, "Let's clear the table first. The plates and bowls are still there." Lucas agrees. They take away the dirty dishes and put the leftovers into a glass box. Then they put the box in the fridge. Next, Lucas washes the dishes carefully. Emma helps him dry the dishes with a clean cloth. After that, Emma cleans the table with a wet wipe. Then Lucas says, "The floor is dirty. Let's sweep it together." They take two brooms and sweep the kitchen floor. When they finish sweeping, Emma mops the floor. Their mom sees them working hard and says, "You are such good helpers! The kitchen looks so clean now."
Lucas and Emma are happy. They learn that doing chores together is fun and fast. Before they finish, they take out the full rubbish bin. "We did all the chores in order!" Lucas says proudly. Emma nods and says, "Next time we can make a chore list first."
