It's Saturday morning. Tom wants to cook noodles for his family. He asks his mom, "Mom, can you teach me to cook noodles?" His mom says happily, "Sure! Let's start together."
First, Tom's mom tells him to get a pot. "Add some water to the pot, Tom," she says. Tom carries the water carefully and pours it into the pot. Then they put the pot on the stove and turn on the fire. "We need to wait for the water to boil," mom says. Tom watches the pot and waits.
After 5 minutes, the water starts to bubble. "Now, add the noodles," mom says. Tom puts the noodles into the pot. Then mom says, "Stir them with a spoon, or they will stick." Tom stirs the noodles gently.
Next, mom takes some greens. "Wash the greens first," she tells Tom. Tom washes them under the tap. Then he adds the greens to the pot. "Wait for one more minute," mom says.
Finally, mom turns off the stove. Tom helps take out the noodles and greens with a spoon. They put them into bowls. "Let's add a little salt," mom says. Tom tastes the noodles and says, "Yummy! I did it!" His dad and sister come to eat. They all say, "Great job, Tom!" Tom is very happy. He loves cooking for his family.
