   The Paralympic Games are for disabled (残疾的) (sportsman). It's held every four years. It started in 1960.

In August, Nate Rhew went to the 2024 Paralympic Games, in Paris, France. This was his experience(体验) below:

In Paris, I saw people (wear) Paralympics shirts and carrying mascot(吉祥物) souvenirs (纪念品). The Paralympic mascot (have) a prosthetic (假的) leg.

   On August 30,I(观看) the wheelchair basketball game between Spain and Australia. By halftime, Australia was 20 points ahead. Then Spain began playing hard. They (win) at last, 68-60. What a comeback(翻盘)!

* During the time-outs and halftime break, a shot(镜头) (show) fans on a big screen (屏幕). A life-size Paralympic mascot danced nearby. Everyone sang a popular (France) song.

Wheelchair basketball is (困难的), because wheelchairs may hit with each other.And the sportsmen will (fall). Players push wheelchairs while dribbling (运球). It needs strength and skill. And they shoot while sitting. It needs more accuracy.

I was very (兴奋的) to watch the game. Being in the audience was great. Going to the Paralympics was unforgettable.

Jared Isaacman set a record. He was the 1 visitor to walk in space. Before him, only 2 had done it.

*3 Thursday, September 12, 2024, Mr Isaacman got out of the Crew Dragon capsule (太空舱)4 the help of a tether(系绳). He 5 the space view. He said the Earth 6 like a perfect(完美的) world.

About fifteen minutes later, three other people started to take turns to take the spacewalk.

The spacewalk was planned to last (持续) 30 minutes at first. The whole process (过程) took about two 7 . Thanks to the new Space X suits Mr Isaacman helped design, the 8 were kept safe in the two hours. They' re different from an astronaut's.

During the spacewalk, they were 9 tied(系) with the tether. They had to keep at least one hand or one foot in contact(连接) with the spacecraft.

For most people, such a space trip is once in a lifetime. But this is just the first of the 10 space trips Mr Isaacman bought. He may go to space again twice in the future.

"I' ll have ten great days, " 12-year-old Amy Gao said. She flew from San Francisco to Hebei province with 174 other peers (同伴) and team leaders on June 26th. They took part in a cultural exchange and study program there.

* Shijiazhuang, the capital city of Hebei province, had a great ceremony to welcome the young visitors. " We saw the Wuqiao acrobatics and Hebei bangzi. I like them very much, "Amy said.

Samantha Tow is a second-year high school student. It was her first trip to China. "The acrobatic performance at the opening ceremony was so amazing. I also tried on Chinese clothes with traditional makeup (化妆) and hairdos (发型). The colors of my clothes were very Chinese, " she said.

The campers also visited an old Buddhist temple and a section (段) of the Great Wall.And they learned paper-cutting, Chinese painting, calligraphy and tea presentation (展示).

"Lots of different activities, very interesting," said Selina Fang, a middle school student.The eye-opening activities also included observations (观察) on the street. "I never see so many electric vehicles(电动汽车) on American streets," she said.

For these children, this trip to China was so wonderful.

Every May, people chase a double wheel (轮) of Gloucester cheese down Cooper's Hill in western England. These are the rules:the cheese is released on the top, and people run after it.* The first one to reach the bottom gets the cheese as a prize. They' re not difficult at all. People from all over the world come to this event.

Lampe is from the USA. She won the race two years ago. This year, she won again. " It's a very steep hill, about forty-five degrees(度). When you look down, you can see the bottom but it's a long way. At the start, you should catch the grass, so you don't fall. It's really very dangerous. Two years ago, someone broke a leg. This year was more dangerous because of the wet weather.     △     But that's the cost (代价) of winning. If you want to take part in the 2025 contest, you should be prepared (准备) to get hurt, " she said.

Lampe's way was to run and then roll. It worked well two years ago and this year too.

" Dear mother, this is my admission letter. I was admitted into a police college (学院)!" said Zheng Xiaoyun, 18, standing in front of the statue(雕塑) of his mother at Yunnan Normal University.

His mother, He Zhihong, was a police officer. In 2007, she went to Haiti as a liaison (联络) officer. In 2010, she lost her life serving on (担任) a UN peacekeeping mission(任务) at the age of only 35.

When his mother left for Haiti, Xiaoyun was only one year old.He said his mother is more like a blank (空白的) space in his memory. But when he heard her story and looked at her photos, the blank space filled up (填满).

In high school, Zheng trained and studied hard to be a student of a police college.Everything comes to him who works hard. In late July, he got an admission letter from YunnanPolice College.

For Zheng, being a police officer is not only to continue (继续) his mother's aspirations(志向) but also to realize(实现) his own dream. * He said he would follow his mother, be a good police officer and finish her unfinished work.

I'm Dou, from Tsinghua University. I went to Zimbabwe as part of a course(课程) in July, 2024.

At a school, I showed my calligraphy (书法) to over 30 kids. I read the words and explained them. They liked it very much.In Zimbabwe, I found my calligraphy was important to cultural(文化的) exchanges (交流). At a forum (论坛), we took part in some activities with many artists. When my teammates sang" Welcome to Beijing", I created four calligraphy works (作品). At the end of the song, I showed my calligraphy works. People liked them very much.

* In addition to my performance(表演) at the forum, I also created calligraphy in my hotel room for the people we would visit the next day. They were always happy with my calligraphy after I explained it.

Once I visited a school principal. He liked my calligraphy and we talked a lot about it. I was very happy about that.

The trip to Zimbabwe made me know the power(力量) of art. So I' ll keep sharing Chinese culture and being open to others.
