A Day as a Pet Volunteer（志愿者）
Last Saturday, my classmate Lucy and I went to the community（社区）animal home to be volunteers. We spent the whole day taking care of homeless（流浪的）cats and dogs there. I looked after a little brown dog named Bean, and Lucy took care of a soft white cat named Mimi.
At first, I thought looking after a dog was easy. But Bean was full of energy. I took him for a walk in the community garden, and he ran here and there happily. He refused to go back indoors even after an hour. He loved to stay with people and would bark（吠叫）softly when no one played with him. Lucy had a different experience. Mimi was quiet most of the time. She slept on the windowsill for most of the afternoon and only played with a small ball for a few minutes. She could clean her fur（软毛）by herself and never made the room dirty.
