The 19th Asian Games was held in Hangzhou. It started on September 23rd and it finished on October 8th.

There were 40 major events in the Asian Games, including 31 Olympic events and 9non-Olympic events. Basketball, badminton, swimming and cycling were the Olympic events. The non-Olympic events were Wushu, chess, kabaddi(卡巴迪) and so on. Kabaddi is a kind of sport like the Chinese game of"Eagle Catching Chicken". It is very interesting.

There were 3 robot-shaped mascots(吉祥物) for the Hangzhou Asian Games, namelyCongcong, Lianlian and Chenchen. Congcong was yellow. It stood for the earth and harvest. Lianlian was green. It stood for the West Lake. Chenchen was blue. The name came from the Gongchen Bridge over the Hangzhou section of the Grand Canal(大运河).

My favourite sport is baseball. It is fun to play baseball, and it is fun to watch baseball games.

I went to watch the baseball game for the first time with my grandparents when I was 6. It was really wonderful. We had a good time.

I was happy to go with my grandparents. My grandfather made me love the sport.

My dad knew I loved baseball, so he gave me a baseball on my eighth birthday.

When I was 12, my friend came to me and asked me to join his baseball team. I agreed. From then on, I began to learn more about baseball. I practised a lot and learned how to play better.

My favourite baseball player is Derrek Lee. Derrek Lee joined the Chicago Cubs in2004. That year was a good year for him, but 2005 was his best year. One of my favourite things about Derrek Lee is that he is a very nice person. He never shouts at others. He always has a big smile on his face. He seems happy all the time.
