Dragon Boat Festival is for a great Chinese man—Qu Yuan. The festival is on the fifth day of the fifth month in the Chinese calendar. In fact, it is usually in June. Qu Yuan lives in Chu State. Some bad men tell bad things about him to the King, so the King asks him to leave(离开). Qu Yuan is very sad, so he jumps into the river. People throw rice into the river to stop the fish from eating his body. Today, Chinese people often have a dragon boat race and beat drums(击鼓). We will put mugwort leaves(艾叶) on the doors. We also have a one-day holiday because of the festival. On Dragon Boat Festival, people often eat zongzi.
