After Mr. White gave the test paper back, Peter had a look at the words, feeling proud of his spelling. All of a sudden, the word "contribusion" confused him. It didn't seem right. Peter began to compare them after taking out the wordlist. "C-O-N-T-R-I-B-U-S-I-O-N," he whispered. He spelled it wrong. "What am I to do?" Peter said to himself. "If I tell Mr. White one of my spelling words is wrong, I'll have to give my prize back, or I'll become an example for telling a lie."

Peter was lost in thought. After a while, he remembered a lesson Mum once taught him, "We ought to be an honest person."

Twin giant pandas have been born at a breeding（繁殖）center in southwestern China, a sign of progress for the endangered species as they struggle  survival due to occupation（占领）on their land by agriculture  industry. 

The male and female baby pandas, born on Tuesday at the Qinling Panda Research Center in Shaanxi Province, are  （they）mother's second pair of twins. She was also born at the center and  （previous）gave birth to twin females in 2020. 

Chinese researchers for years have been working  （increase）the population of the animals,  reproduce rarely in the wild and rely on a diet of bamboo in the  （mountain）of southwestern China.

The first time ever I realized that plastic was a serious matter for our planet was during a road trip in Western Australia, almost 12 years ago.

It was April I, 2021. I was filming and skiing in the Tetons, a mountain range in Wyoming. I was with my friends Jeremy and Xavier, both experienced snowboarders.  I was the last person to ski. Jeremy and Xavier were watching me from a safe area. 

Suddenly, I heard someone scream. I turned around and saw the whole mountain start to move behind me. It was an avalanche（雪崩）. Tens of thousands of tons of snow were coming straight down the mountain behind me. I felt the snow push forward, hundreds of meters, and then cover me. It was so heavy that I couldn't breathe.  

I looked down into the bottom of the valley.  However, they looked tiny to me because I was so far away. "OK, I'm going all the-way to the bottom!" I thought. 

I thought the force of the snow would destroy me, because it was so powerful.  And I just managed to get right out of the snow at the bottom of the valley. It took Jeremy and Xavier about twenty minutes to reach me. They couldn't believe it when they saw me. I was so lucky. 

Has the experience changed me? Do I think about life differently? I don't know, maybe.  Life is a gift, so use it wisely.

The Sequoia National Park in California's southern Sierra Nevada mountains is best known for the Giant Forest, a collection of 2,000 trees that includes half of the Earth's largest and longest-living trees. This past weekend, the ancient wonders came dangerously close to being burned by the KNP Complex Fire. But thanks to resourceful firefighters, the precious treasure has been saved. 

The firefighters had taken the standard measures of clearing brush and setting controlled fires long before the fire began heading toward the Giant Forest. But they knew more needed to be done. On September 17, 2021, they took the unusual step of covering the base of some of the oldest trees with protective aluminum "blankets". High on the list was General Sherman, the world's largest tree by volume. The park officials believed the specialized foil（锡纸）would help block some of the heat from the fires and enhance the natural insulation（隔热）provided by the ancient trees' thick bark. They were right! 

On Sunday, September 19, 2021, the officials reported that the extra prevention measures, which also included 24-hour timed sprinklers（洒水装置）on General Sherman and the nearby park buildings, had worked. Jack Owen, a spokesman for the KNP Complex Fire Information Office, said, "There are no trees that have been burned yet, as far as in the Giant Forest. Firefighters are pouring everything they can into it as long as it's safe. That area is looking good."

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the rest of the national park. The KNP Complex Fire has burned through 21,777 acres. Meanwhile, the Windy Fire, which started further south on the Sierra slopes on the same night, has burned over21, 598 acres. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate and allow firefighters to gain control of the massive fires, which are now beginning to threaten nearby communities. 

In Birmingham, one school is offering its students an education that will change their lives. The unique program is called Build UP, which enables students to earn a high school certificate while working as paid apprentices（学徒）in construction work. As part of their training, they remodel（改造）old and abandoned houses in their neighborhood! 

At any school, the burden on students can be heavy, and for those in poor areas, it is much heavier. "The kids that I've worked with during my entire career are all from disadvantaged groups with all the challenges that come with poverty," said educator Mark Martin. So he founded Build UP in 2018 to offer students a different kind of education: real-world training. 

As far as real-world issues are concerned, for low-income communities, one of the biggest needs is housing. That's why Build UP made construction their main focus, offering a combination of regular and specialized classes. That way, instead of hearing the age-old question "When am I ever going to use this?" in a geometry class, their teachers are able to redirect students to a shop class（工艺课）. There, students can connect the math theory to the building of a house. 

The program hopes to draw in students who are likely to quit school by offering wages for their apprenticeships. Students receive $125 every two weeks when they start out as apprentices and can eventually work up to getting $200 every two weeks. Upon graduation, they have the opportunity to get an interest-free loan to purchase the remodeled homes. 

So far, they have been doing a pretty amazing job. And now with the help of a loan company, the program has the opportunity to bring their model to communities everywhere! They plan to first add similar programs in nearby neighborhoods. After that, they hope to train others to start similar schools and expand their network of partners—particularly construction companies that can offer jobs to their students. 

When we drove through a twenty-foot-tall fence and entered the Okonjima Camp in central Namibia, the first question on our minds was whether the fence was being used to keep animals in or out. Our guide was quick to say, "Out." The Okonjima Camp works with the AfriCat Foundation that accepts injured big cats. So there was no shortage of cats, and on that first night, we heard growls（咆哮）from our houses. How close we were! I hope nobody left the gate open. 

The next day of our Africa trip started with a journey outside the fences and protected zone to track a mother leopard（花豹）and her baby the guide had seen the previous day, and we were happy to find them very quickly. The mother leopard was aware of our presence but was relaxed since our car was a healthy distance away, and we sat for 45 minutes watching the sweet interactions between mother and baby. 

Later in the day, the guide said we would go on a hike. Everything we were told before about staying in the vehicle and not leaving the fenced arca of the camp was put aside. We were going to find cheetahs（猎豹）. It is safer to approach cheetahs, keeping a safe distance, and our guide got out earphones to listen on the leopards' radio collar（颈圈）frequency to see if any were in the area. No leopards, no problems. Let's go look for cheetahs, and we did find them. Well, I didn't. Our guide's tracking skills were phenomenal. He quickly found them somehow lying in the shade of some tall grass. After some time, they stood up on their long legs. No cheetah-fast speed, but a silent walk into the bushes（灌木丛）. 

Hong Kong to Macau Transportation

It is really convenient and swift for travelers to travel between Hong Kong and Maca with a straight-line distance of about 60 kilometers. 

Helicopter（直升机）Transport

Helicopter transport is the most swift and convenient means for transportation between HongKong and Macau. The length of time for a journey is only 15 minutes. 

Service time: The helicopter departs every 30 minutes from 9:00 to 23:00. Passenger should arrive at the waiting room at least 15 minutes before the departure（出发）time.
