Born with a cleft lip and orphaned(孤儿) at birth, I entered multiple adoptive homes until ages even when I was finally adopted by my forever home. But the frequent transitions had already left a bad mark on my young soul and I'd fallen behind in my schoolwork, and my appearance-related insecurities robbed me of any confidence. My future seemed clouded and uncertain, and I constantly sought approval from others, often finding myself in the wrong crowd.

Deep inside, I was fully aware that I was on the wrong path. Although the future remained a mystery, I desired something different and realized that I had to change the course of my life.

Thankfully, in middle school, my life took a turn. I started to hang out with uplifting friends—individuals who accepted me without judgment and taught me the value of self-love. My sixth-grade social studies teacher, Cynthia, with her passionate delivery of history, often had me staying after class to further explore global issues. She inspired me to become the change I longed to see in the world.

One day, I delivered a speech in front of my classmates, discussing the significance of the "Treaty of Versailles(《凡尔赛条约》)". After my speech, Cynthia called to me. "Ashleigh, I would like to speak with you for a moment, please."

Wannan, featuring poetic landscapes as well as beautiful and graceful Jiangnan water village scenery, is a southern place in Anhui. A wealth of architecture with(culture) landscapes is shown in these ancient and irreplaceable villages. The most representative one is Hongcun Village.

Hongcun Village,(original) built during the Song Dynasty, has a history of more than 800 years. It has more than 140 well-preserved ancient (building) from the Ming and Qing Dynasties and is known as "the village of Chinese painting". When you first enter Hongcun Village, there iswide and clear water feature, with two arms(join) together that surround the ancient village. The entire village, reflected by Nanhu Lake, is quiet and peaceful. The once magnificent architecture, just like a lady who(remove) her make-up and dresses with fog, presents the worldher unique charm.

The Hunqiao Bridge is a small arch bridge built, over the Nanhu Lake.(look) inward along the arch. you can see the blue sky, white clouds, a lotus, reflections of the houses in Hongcun, and the local people don't permit its beauty(destroy). After coming to Hongcun, you will find that there are many students by the lake in groups of two or three next to the old bridge. They set up their easels(画架)and carefully paint the nice houses and localscome to life in just n few brushstrokes.

My work in cancer research was generating a lot of waste every day. As our research turned to full capacity, our waste production 1 .

Recent experiments exposed four common disease-causing bacteria to a Mars-like environment with its lack of water, insufficient atmospheric pressure, deadly radiation and poisonous salts. The bacteria remained alive for various periods of time, researchers report in the January Astrobiology.

In 2020, a team of scientists found that several bacterial species that live on or inside the human body were able to grow in a medium like the nutrient-poor conditions. That made some of the researchers wonder how such bugs would hold up under the unforgiving environment of Mass. So several members of that team, along with microbiologist Tommaso Zaccaria, did the experiment about four microbes(微生物), which usually live harmlessly on or in us but can lend to diseases when stressed.

"At the beginning, we thought that the environment on Mars would have a harmful effect on the cells so it would limit their growth." says Zaccaria, a microbiologist in Cologne. "But instead, we saw that it was the opposite."

In 2019, Sandra closed h or studio to expand and bring art to more people. This also gave her more time to create and explore he town art, including her food art. Sandra hosted painting events, painting with thousands of people at her large Be...An Artist events, such as the National Football League's owners meeting in 2019 where she painted with the NFL owners and their families.

Sandra is now working with schools, bringing the joy of creating to children and their families with her "Success For All" painting programs that n re supported by the sales of her food art books and grants given to the schools. Last year alone, she painted with thousands of children and their families over Zoom.
