UN Chinese Language Day is observed annually on April 20, celebrating the language's contribution to the world and (encourage) more people to learn it.

April 20 marks the Guyu, Grain Rain in Chinese. The Guyu is the (six) of the 24 solar terms in the traditional lunar calendar, the day when farmers start sowing. Each year they will celebrate Guyu in memory of the person: Cang Jie, was believed to create Chinese characters.

Chinese (allow) to be an official language of the United Nations in 1946. However, in the early years, Chinese was not (common) used in the work of the United Nations. The situation improved the restoration (恢复) of the lawful rights of the PRC in the United Nations in 1971. And in 1973, the General Assembly (联合国大会) included Chinese as working language. Many years ago, my dad was facing a serious heart condition. He was unable to do a steady job. He fell suddenly ill and had to be admitted to the hospital.

He started visiting her in her room, bringing paints, brushes and paper. He stood the paper up, put the paintbrush in his mouth and began to paint. He didn't use his hands at all. All the while he would tell her, "See, you can do anything you set your mind to. "At the end of the day, she began to paint using her mouth, and she and my dad became friends. Soon after, the little girl was sent home because the doctors felt there was nothing else they could do for her. My dad also left the children's hospital for a little while because he became ill. Some time later after my dad had recovered and returned to work, in came the little girl who had been paralyzed and only this time she was walking. She ran straight over to my dad and hugged him really tight. She gave him a picture she had done using her hands. At the bottom it read: "Thank you for helping me walk. "

My dad would cry every time he told us this story and so would we. He would say sometimes love is more powerful than doctor, and my dad—who died just a few months after the little girl gave the picture—loved every single child in that hospital.

Alex sat quietly at the back of his Chinese class, his eyes fixed on the textbook before him. As a shy and unnoticed student, he felt like a lone wolf, struggling against the complexities of high school life. Ms Lau, his Chinese teacher, was a light in his otherwise dark world. The World Earth Day

To stop inappropriate parking of shared bikes, Beijing's Dongcheng and Xicheng districts will start a pilot program that sets aside certain areas fit to park, (use) hi-tech assistance to enforce related rules. Dongcheng District will mark nearly 600 (site) for parking shared bikes, mainly near bus hubs, subway stations shopping centers. Users will know from (they) mobile phone app where to put them. The project will (possible) start as early as June.

What's more, Dongcheng and Xicheng districts (plan) to use "electronic fence" to control illegal parking at present. Riders park bikes outside the allowed areas cannot lock them and will continue to be charged.

The capital has increased its management of shared bike parking as they become a popular, cheap (choose) for avoiding traffic jams. Haidian, Xicheng and Shijingshan districts have designed some 2,000 parking areas for (share) bikes recently. Xicheng has also singled out 10 streets where riders (ban) from parking.
