Coco Gauff used to visit the Grand Slam tournament (大满贯锦标赛) as a kid to see her idols Serena and Venus Williams. Now she is a champion there herself. On Sept 9, the 19-year-old from the US won her first major women's singles title at the 2023 US Open (美国网球公开赛).

After an average start, Gauff surged to a 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory over her bigger, stronger opponent, Aryna Sabalenka, from Belarus, who became the new world No.1 the day after the tournament ended.

Unlike the Williams sisters, who have obvious force and power, Gauff is small and slim. But she moves fast on the tennis court. Forbes magazine said, "She is the quickest and perhaps already the best returner of impossible shots in tennis history."

Even though Sabalenka is a very powerful hitter, it felt like she had to finish each point four or five times, as Gauff's defense was so perfect, noted The Telegraph. This ended up frustrating Sabalenka and caused her to make 46 unforced errors.

Gauff thus became the first American teenager to win the US Open since Serena Williams, then 17, in 

1999. When asked about "taking the torch" from the 23-time Grand Slam winner and the similarity between their tennis careers, Gauff told ESPN, "Serena is Serena. She's the greatest of all time... I'd hope to do half of what she did. But I'm not going to compare myself to her. She's some one that I look up to."

Now, Gauff's big win has left tennis fans wondering: When's her next Grand Slam? That's no easy task. Two of the past four US Open women's champions were teenagers at the time, Canada's Bianca Andreescu in 2019 and the UK's Emma Raducanu in 2021, and neither has come close to repeating their success yet. But one thing about Gauff is certain — that at just 19 years old, the sky's the limit.

There's a drop off in tourist crowds, and local urban life is in full swing, including a busy calendar of arts and cultural events.

Istanbul in December? Winter is ideal for travel on a budget. The gray, rainy and chilly winter months aren't the most appealing time to visit Istanbul, though they do lend the city a certain romantically sad mood. On the plus side, it won't be difficult or expensive to find accommodations, and Istanbul's many museums, mosques and other sights provide plenty of indoor activities.

Gudrun wasn't sure what had awakened her in the middle of the night. Was it the urgency in Mamma's voice or the frightening and low rumble that rolled through her room? Gudrun found herself suddenly wide awake, drawn to the window by a strange and unfamiliar brilliance outside. "An eruption," Mamma said as she began to gather Gudrun's clothes. "Maybe Helga fell, maybe a new volcano. We must leave the island quickly."

"Tonight? How?" Gudrun asked, her heart pounding. "Where will we go?"

"We're lucky. The fishing boats will take us to the mainland." Mamma turned to face Gudrun."Pabbi has already gone to the harbor. I'm going to help Margret." Their elderly. neighbor lived alone. Mamma proceeded, "can you dress Arnar and take him to the harbor by yourself?"

"Of course," she declared. Everyone would help tonight. Icelanders had always worked together to survive in a land ruled by volcanoes, glaciers, and ocean.

I was first going into this final day, the Junior Sled Dog Championship. We'd trained two years and wanted to beat Blake. I knelt down to pat Kenai and my hands 1 from nerves and excitement. Kenai tipped up his face to lick my chin. "You are 2 , aren't you?"

We sailed back two years later and re-established our home in Toowoomba. My father immediately began his own searching for Spider. Several months passed but there was still no news concerning Spider. The dog was gone, possibly shot or dead from starvation or exhaustion. 

One cold morning eight months after our return, my father had a call from an old lady who said she was putting food out " for a very old dog" . In the night the food disappeared. This had been going on for a few weeks. That was enough for my father to interrupt my homework and we set off immediately. When we arrived at the old lady' s house, she invited us into an old bush. Sadly, she then told us that the " dingo dog" hadn' t been around for a few days. My father had a strange look in his eye. He put two fingers to his lips and did his special whistle（口哨） for Spider.

We all do procrastination （拖延）. No matter how well-organized you are, chances are that you have found yourself wasting hours on small pursuits when you should have been spending that time on school-related projects.  However, do they really work?

When we look at a task, such as doing homework or preparing a presentation, we do an internal assessment.  If not, our brain center responds by telling our body to avoid the situation causing us anxiety. In this way, procrastination will provide us with a circle-stressful task, perceived threat, but once the task is finished, you will feel better. This is a short-term solution in fact. Then, ultimately we want to finish a work and feel good, what can we do? 

 That' s because we live in a busy world where tasks will roll your way. Be aware that you are procrastinating and don' t pile up the act of procrastination with the act of self-deception（欺骗）. Know yourself and your moods. Scheduling tasks during times of high energy will help us be most productive and lessen the opportunity for procrastination.
