It's reported that half of around 7,000 languages on the earth are in danger of disappearing by 2100.There are many reasons for such disappearance. Sometimes younger generations stop learning a language because parents want children to fit in modern society. For instance, native American children of the late-19th century were required to attend boarding schools where educators forbade them from speaking their native languages.

Endangered languages are ranked according to their risk level by the United Nations. A "critically endangered" language is one that even grandparents don't speak often. New York's Onondaga language is an example with only 50 speakers left. An "extinct" language has no speakers, which means it is gone forever.The last person who spoke it died in 2008. So this language doesn't exist any longer.

Various animals and plants benefit our environment.Saving these languages benefits our understanding of other cultures. Languages can show how a society looks at the world and what it values. The Endangered Language Alliance, a non-profit group, wants to save languages from disappearing.However, its efforts are limited. If an endangered language is going to make a real comeback, it'll probably get its start in schools. Now students in Hawaii can keep learning Hawaiian from elementary schools to college and beyond.

 At least one did. In 1881, a Jewish linguist named Eliezer Ben-Yehuda brought the 3,000-year-old language Hebrew back to life. Today it is one of the official languages of the country of Israel, with more than 4 million speakers.

Livestreaming is a kind of e-commerce and marketing and sales method. It combines live product demonstrations, time-limited pricing promotions, live negotiations, and instant ordering through online streaming services hosted either by an influencer studio, or online store.

Livestreaming removes barriers between brands and consumers. While it is focused on driving short term sales, livestreaming can enable firms to improve marketing efficiency by combining brand marketing and performance marketing. There are certain factors that will increase the chance of success.

Brands should not use livestreaming as a short-term sales booster but as a long-term way to remove barriers between brands and consumers. Specifically, brands could better demonstrate their products in this way, tell fuller brand stories, introduce emotional and cultural elements to their products, obtain instant feedback, conduct product trials, improve marketing efficiency by combining brand marketing and performance marketing, use different livestream hosts to build a bridge for the consumers and cultivate brand loyalty.

Of course, Livestreaming is not without drawbacks, however. For ads on TV, government has clear rules to forbid brands parading the before-and-after effects of health products. The restrictions are not clear yet for internet-based livestreaming, and health products are frequently promoted by livestreamers. We need to continue to monitor regulatory updates carefully.

As promoting products through live-streaming has been compared to "tuning clicks into cash," some people have made illegal profits by creating false prosperity. Some people have tried locking their mobiles away in order to fight against their smartphone addiction(上瘾), while others have used some tricks such as making their screens black and white. But the cure to smartphone addiction may lie in an app that rewards users for leaving their phone alone.

The new app, called Hold, can detect(检测)when users have used their smartphones and gives them points dependent on how long they avoid the temptation(引诱)of looking at Facebook, for example. Upon downloading it for free, users receive 10 points for every 20 minutes spent without touching their phone between 7: 00 and 23: 00 every day of the week, with a user email address needed to receive the rewards. To get half price Vue cinema tickets, users need 60 points. For two free coffees from Cafe Nero, users need 300 points, and a glass of juice for 90 points, For £5 Amazon vouchers(代金券)users need to have collected 1, 000 points.

Hold was created by Maths Mathisen, Florian Winder and Vinoth Vinaya-three Norwegians. They noticed that young people's dependence on their smartphones was getting out of hand while studying at Copenhagen Business School. Rather than punish their users, the three found that the best way to get them to put their phones down was to use tricks that got them interested in the first place.

Lots of studies in recent years point to the worrying rise of smartphone addiction and the effects of smartphones on education. Researchers from the London School of Economics found that students who did mot use their phones at school found their grades improved by 6.5 percent.
