When our first grandchild， Noah， was born， we didn' t know what to expect. We thought he would be 1  and develop like others. 2  ，that was not the case

One day I was in the grocery store. A young mother was walking by with her9 b aby. The baby started to cry out loud. Then， in a bored voice， the mother looked at me and 10 that now she had to 11  the two-month-old baby again. I knew she was taking feeding her baby as an inconvenience but not something to be thankful for. 

I understood the mother， but I 12  with her what Noah was going through. I said，"You have no idea how13 my daughter would be to feed Noah like you' re able to. "

Noah is unique and 13 years old now. He has come a long way. I' m thankful he can do things today that I didn' t know he would ever be 14  enough to do

Today， let' s take some time to 15  things we often take for granted and be thankful. 

Thirty-day challenges have become particularly popular recently. They usually involve starting a new routine to help improve your life. 

. For example， there are challenges to help you eat healthier， sleep better， reduce your daily screer time， focus on your mental health. Even if you can' t find a challenge you like， you can always make one yourself"Thirty days is certainly long enough to start to see the beginnings of some nice changes，" Mike Siemens told NBC News. Siemens believes that 30-day challenges are a great way to add exercise into your daily routine Siemens pointed out，" . "You might not always get the results that a 30-day challenge might have promised you， but they can definitely help you start practicing a new habit that you' ve been wanting to make aroutine. So just be patient. 

There are a few things to keep in mind if you want to start a 30-day challenge， though. . Also， make sure that the challenge is realistic and achievable. 

It' s also important to remember that forming a new habit takes time. In fact， research suggests it takes 66 days on average for a new habit to take hold. So， don' t give up easily if you miss a day or two. 

A. Patience is the key here. 

B. Rome wasn' t built in a day. 

C. Actions speak louder than words. 

D. Remember it is a goal that you want to accomplish. 

E. You are eager for focused challenges of 30 days or less. 

F. You can form it either by starting a new habit or stopping a bad one Besides that， there are so many different kinds of 30-day challenges. 

When someone asks me what my goals are for the coming year， I don' t usually know how to reply. Of course I，as most people do， want to see an improvement in my grades. This year， however， I' m hoping for something different. 

Through the course of my school life， I' ve gradually developed a new understanding of the word"prioritization（优先次序）". The first thing-l wish to get in Senior 1 is the ability to manage my time better. I' ll surely become busier with the coming semester， and proper organization is important. From school clubs to academic competitions， everything should be set up in a way that doesn' t influence my health， which leads me to my second goal.

My mother has always told me put my health first， so in the future， I hope to both physically and mentally healthy. A person can' t study without having the energy to do so. In order to stay energetic， they must put their health first， no matter how busy they are， or how much work they have to complete. 

And finally， I hope that I won' t be discouraged by my failure and never give up on my dreams. I hope that I' ll have the courage to try new activities and clubs. I believe my final goal can apply to every student around the world. We should all respect one another' s likes and dislikes， and focus on each other' s strengths， not our weaknesses. Everyone should try to take part in all of life' s opportunities. 

Albert Einstein once said，"Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance， you must keep moving. "In my case， it' s the other way around. In order to keep moving， I must keep my balance — the balance between studies and activities， efficiency and procrastiation（拖延症），academics and health， passions and dislikes. The new joumey is going to be a hard one， but if I establish these goals， I believe I will make it through to the end.

According to CCTV， this poetic，dance program was inspired by the 900-year-old Chinese painting. A Panorama of Rivers and Mountains（《手里江山图》）. Created by Song Dynasty painter Wang Ximeng at about 18. the painting is amazing in its sweeping size， rich coloration and the expressive details， reported by CCTV. It shows a Chinese blue-green landscape："mountains and groupings of infinite（无限的）rise and fall between cloudless sky and rippling（涟漪的） water

When the dancers moved elegantly，audiences seemed to be looking at the moving mountains and rivers. "I brings me a pure experience of beauty. It is not only a drama but also an exhibition. Vast mountains and rivers are coming to life!" Internet user Mo Weisha wrote in a review. "More than a thousand years later， green mountains and rivers still impress people as they did long ago. " Some people even decided to watch the dance again when it was staged in the theaters later. In fact， in recent years， more and more modern shows feature Chinese traditional culture and have received warm welcome. As for the reason， it is due to people' s great love for traditional culture. 

"The younger generations have grown up with a more open mind. They accept Chinese culture and are proud of it. "Yao Wei， director of Henan TV Station' s Innovation Center， told China Daily. 

Today was a really big day for me. The last time I spoke in class was three years ago and it was terrible. I tried to say the letter"W"and made that strange sound Everyone laughed and I haven' t spoken in class since. 

But it' s been going really well lately. I' ve got a great doctor and I' m allowed to use my computer in class all the time. And guess what? This is really big news! When I listen to music on my headphones， I can speak without stuttering（结巴）! That' s why I agreed to talk at the science fair today

So I arrived at school early this morning to practise with my group. Our project is about using bacteria（细菌）to eat plastic. Unfortunately， when it was my turn to speak， I was so nervous that I chose the wrong music on myMP3 player. So instead of Mozart was listening to my dance collection. The problem is that when I have dance music on the headphones I can' t stop myself talking in the same rhythm（节奏）as the music. So it just sounds like I' m rapping（说唱）!

Most people in school had never heard me speak before. They were really surprised when I started doing a rp about bacteria that eat plastic. I could see they were laughing at me. But when I finished， they all stood up and cheered

After we finished， everyone wanted to know me. They didn' t know about my secret use of the music on my headphones， so they just thought I was a great rapper! I checked my phone at lunchtime and I' ve got 187 new friend requests!

Staff and volunteers currently working with ASF are not fit for consideration or publication. Additionally，students， former students， and colleagues of the judge' s are not admitted to participate（参加）. We ask that previous winners wait three years after their winning entry is published before entering again. 

About writing， Hobson has said，"I' m always more interested in language than I am certainly in plot. Most of us who write literary fiction are interested in experimenting in more ways than just looking at it， especially a traditional storyline or plot that we all learned in school. " With those words of encouragement and wisdom， good luck! We can' t wait for your submissions!
