Scale down(减) your gift giving. Sometimes you just can't afford to get something for everyone. Remove the people from your list whom you rarely speak with. The people you do choose to buy for don't need something expensive. Keep in mind that it's the thought that is more important.

Food should never stay out at room temperature for more than two hours. Leftovers can become breeding dangerous bacteria if they're left out too long and can make people sick.

"It is OK to leave the food cooling outside before you hit the two-hour mark," says Serena Poon, nutritionist of Le Cordon Bleus' Grand Diploma training program. " In fact, the sooner you can get your leftovers in the fridge, the better. "

It was early winter several years ago. I had pulled out my old winter coat for another year's use. It was still in pretty good shape although it was looking dirty from so many winters' wear.
