A few years ago, the company that I worked for sent my wife and me to live in New York for a year. I've always loved running, so I was really happy when I found I lived next to Central Park. This meant that every morning I could go running before I went to work.

Because a lot of people had told me to be careful of robbers (抢劫犯) in the park, so usually I didn't take anything with me. How could they rob me if I didn't have anything? But one morning, my wife gave me 10 dollars and asked me to buy some bread on the way. It was a beautiful morning and the park was quiet with few people walking or jogging around. While I was running through the park, another jogger knocked into (撞到) me. He said sorry to me and continued running. For a while, I didn't think too much of it.

Luosifen, from the southern Chinese city of Liuzhou, is a symbolic dish known for its strong smell. The smell can be unpleasant for first-timers, , those who brave it often find the taste unforgettable.

The development of the Internet, especially the rise of e-commerce and online food shows, has brought this Chinese passion  luosifen to a new level. Luosifen  (frequent) appears in videos by food bloggers and hosts of eating shows. One of the most influential is Li Ziqi, who has many fans on YouTube. Her video on how to make luosifen  (receive) more than 61 million views on the website so far.

With its increasing  (popular), the local government is working on making it known internationally. In 2019, authorities in Liuzhou City announced plans  (seek) UNESCO's recognition of luosifen as an intangible cultural heritage (非物质文化遗产).

Ozcan's invention is important because it is very accurate and easy to use. In many remote places, even if doctors have microscopes and other instruments to help them make diagnoses, there may still be other problems. Many doctors, for example, don't have enough training to correctly interpret what they see.  With Ozcan's mobile phone app, health workers can take a special photo of a blood sample and send it to a central computer at a hospital. The computer will then automatically interpret the photo and send a diagnosis back in a few minutes. 

 His technology only requires a mobile phone and an Internet connection. As more than four billion people already have cell phones, the cost of establishing the diagnostic system is fairly low. 

By inventing a medical tool that uses existing technology—mobile phones—Ozcan has developed a medical tool that is both practical and economical. Therefore, it can be effectively almost anywhere. .
