My favorite food

The  (tradition) Chinese lunar calendar divides the year into 24 solar terms(节气). Start of Autumn(立秋)，the 13th solar term of the year, begins this year on Aug7th and ends on Aug 22nd. Start of Autumn (reflect) the end of  summer and the  (begin) of autumn. In China, the 24 solar terms were created  （thousand）of years ago to guide agricultural production. And solar term culture is still useful today to guide people's lives.

When I think of the word perfect, I think of something only a few can achieve, anything that I can compare myself to. A piece of art can produce powerful emotions when we look at it. Art can cheer us up after a bad day, make us remember, or inspire us to do more in life. It can provide comfort that we are not the only ones feeling a certain way. It also provides a reflection back to us that enables us to chew on our own reactions, emotions, and thoughts.

With the advancement in AI technology, people are debating the boundary between robot and man: Will robots become more intelligent and eventually replace humans? Rather, what we really need to worry about is actually "men being forced to become machines".

The tasks of takeout riders are controlled by an invisible hand— the intelligent distribution system. "To make the riders more focused on food delivery, this system replaces our human logic to the maximum extent possible." The riders don't need to think but have to follow the guide of the system. All they have to do is riding as fast as possible. Their actions may be against the traffic law, but they are pushed by the pressure of "system time". Takeout riders are just individuals who labor with their time, and they can't go against the "system time", so all they have to do is speeding. The riders' physical conditions and the weather are completely invisible to the "intelligent distribution system".

The scariest part of the system is that it is not only the platform, but the riders themselves that push them to go faster and faster. Every order they've delivered has been uploaded to the cloud data of the platform, and the algorithm ( 算 法 ) will calculate the speed limit of the riders. When everyone gets faster and faster, the algorithm will speed them up accordingly.

Of course, each one of us can be a number in statistics, but "a person" can never be just a number. Algorithms can be cold, but human-beings are not. Data, as a tool, should serve people, but not enslave them.

Technology keeps moving forward, but it also should be moving toward kindness.

Regardless of(不管) what you choose to plant, poor soil isn't suitable for growth. This is why gardeners take the time and energy to upgrade the soil before planting. So, creating the right soil is important to the realization of your goals and dreams. Fortunately, there are countless ways to make your personal bedrock(牢固基础) better. Getting an education is one of the most effective ways, which can help you enrich your life's soil.

You don't have to be an enthusiastic gardener to understand the meaning of "You harvest what you sow." When a gardener wants tomatoes, they just need to plant tomato seeds. It's a very clear act that produces an expected result. Each of us has the power to decide which "life seeds" to plant. For example, if you plant ill seeds, it's likely that you'll experience pain in return. Contrarily, if you plant seeds of kindness and understanding, your life will bloom with happiness and love.

A gardener's truly hard work begins after the seeds are in the ground because a garden requires a lot of care and attention.

At first, Michael Surrell didn't see the black smoke or flames shooting from the windows of his neighbor's home. He had just parked around the corner from his own house when he got a call from his daughter: "The house next door is on fire!" He went to look. That's when he saw an old woman crying outside.

Finally, he touched something. A shoe, then an ankle. He pulled the baby toward him. Her body was weak and she wasn't breathing. He carried her into his arms and ran blindly into the blackness. The next thing he knew, he was at the front door, then outside.

A three-day plan to Hangzhou Day 1: West Lake—Hefang Street—Southern Song Imperial Street

Day 3: Liangzhu Ancient City Ruins Park—Liangzhu Museum—Hangzhou branch of the China National Archives of Publications and Culture Liangzhu Ancient City Ruins Park are famed for its delicate jade products and grand water conservation system. It is recommended to take the three-hour sightseeing bus tour, during which you will be able to enjoy many scenic spots.

Liangzhu Museum specializes in collecting and displaying relics of the neolithic civilization (新石器时代文明) and the study of Liangzhu Culture.

Hangzhou branch of the China National Archives of Publications and Culture is home to China's bibliographical resources (书目资源) — a must-visit for history lovers.
