Inside the tunnel everything went normal. But when he was near the end, Oliver spotted an unusual light 50 meters ahead. Then he saw something burning.

He stopped in his tracks and saw a tour bus on fire! At the back where the engine was, dozens of tourists were running towards him.

"They're going the wrong way." Oliver thought, knowing the tunnel exit was just 500 meters ahead. Then he realized the bus was now burning so fiercely that it was impossible for them to get around it.

As a former volunteer firefighter, Oliver first had to raise the alarm. "A bus is on fire Stop the traffic!" he texted with shaking hands, while thick smoke pouring out of the bus kept blowing in his direction under the influence of the strong wind. In no time it would black out the tunnel, choking and blinding anyone inside it. There was no chance for the poor tourists to survive. Every minute counted.

When it's time to leave, make it brief and sincere. If you need to express complex feelings, consider writing them in a letter for the person to read later. In person, keep things light and fun. Hug, say your piece, and wish them luck during their journey. Don't overstay your welcome.
