It was a short flight from Shanghai to Xi'an. Xi'an is one of the four great ancient capitals of China with a history of over 3,100 years. Dating from the Ming Dynasty, (it) ancient walls are the best preserved in the world. There are bicycles for people to hire. It is (amaze) to ride along the walls to survey this fascinating city.

The Tang Dynasty Music and Dance show (be) not to be missed, but my favorite is  art gallery, where we can enjoy some beautiful artwork and learn how to write Chinese characters.

Most visitors make their way Xi'an to see the life-size terracotta warriors (兵马俑) and we were not different at all. The collection, shows the armies of the first Emperor of China, remained hidden until 1974 when they (discovery) by a farmer digging a well. (walk) among the statues is forbidden unless you are a VIP — but there are plenty of souvenir (shop) in which tourists can buy the replicas (复制品) of them.

All too soon it was time to leave. I (true) enjoyed my stay in Xi'an. It is indeed a place of interest worth a second visit.

Although the road to your goal is always full of difficulties, everything is for your wish, as long as you are full of passion and determination.

My daughter, Alice 1  some terrible illness in her early childhood. Luckily, after years of regular treatment (治疗), she finally became 2 .

Looking around, he continued, "Alice has inspired us with her 12 and enthusiasm. 13 skills and talents bring great success, the most valuable asset (财富) one can hold is the heart."

It was the greatest 14 of my daughter's life. With all she had gone 15 in her ten years, this was the hour of true triumph (成功).

Making a good first impression is important, especially in certain situations. Are you trying to make a good impression on other people?

Pay attention to your body language. It can convey (传递) a great deal of information, so it is important to make sure that your body language helps with the impression you are trying to make. 

 Sit or stand straight and keep your arms at your sides and your legs straight.Avoid crossing your arms or legs.

Watch your expressions. Besides using good body language, be sure to watch how you are responding (回应) with your facial expressions.If you are feeling nervous , such as in the face of strangers or while speaking in public, try to keep a relaxed expression.

Dress properly.Appearance, including how you dress, can help give others information about who you are to others. If you are dressed correctly, it may help people form a good impression of you.Choose clothing that looks neat (整洁的).

Consider your words. When speaking to others,focus on using language that is polite and respectful. While there are certain opinions or subjects you might feel comfortable discussing with people who already know you well, it is best to try to be considerate of other people's feelings and backgrounds when you are first introduced.

When you are speaking to someone new, practice active listening.Be truly interested in what they have to say and make sure that you are listening to their words. Noticing the other person is also a great way if you are feeling anxious about meeting new people. By paying much attention to the other person, you're less likely to be nervous.

It's normal for teens to want to stay connected with friends and social circle, but what about that happening in the middle of the night? The Journal of Youth Studies recently published new research showing that one in five teens from 12 to 15 regularly wake to spend all night on social media (社会媒体). Not surprisingly, the research also showed that these social night owls were three times more likely than others to feel tired at school and that girls were more likely than boys to be called to office.

The blue light produced by cell phones and computers makes the brain to stay awake, so it's easy to see why a teen might be up all night. A study in Psychological Science showed the same brain reaction: when teens saw large numbers of "likes" on their posts, they stayed awake with excitement as if they had eaten chocolates or won money. Besides not catching up on sleep and interrupting their sleep cycle, teens may never fully enter deep sleep that may be responsible for brain development and learning.

Considering about 72 percent of children from 6 to 17 sleep with some electronic media in their bedrooms, parents need to set rules sooner rather than later.

"Providing access (使用机会) to social media is a favor that children can earn and also lose," Janie Feldman, an expert who treats sleep disorders (紊乱), reminds parents, "The bad effect is clear. So teens and parents should discuss and agree on its use, timing and access. When teenagers agree to the rules, it's easier for parents to control how much time they use the phones or computers."
