1、Facebook has turned out to be one of the most visited and most popular social media sites in the world. When it comes to talking about Facebook, we cannot stop ourselves from describing its creator, Mark Zuckerberg. His success story and Facebook have inspired many people all over the world in different ways.
Mark Zuckerberg was born into a well-educated family and developed an interest in computer programming at an early age. His first computer was a Quantex 486DX, powered by the Intel 486 processor. When Mark was 12 years old, his father introduced him to Atari BASIC Programming. At such a young age, Mark managed to use the program to come up with his own messenger called the ZuckNet. Thanks to his first creation, all the computers in his house were connected to the ones in his father's dental office. Within that connected system, the computer users were allowed to send messages to each other.
Mark Zuckerberg created his billion-dollar social networking site based on a simple concept. He was trying to compare photos of two different people and he invited other people to vote and decide which one was better looking. At Harvard University, with his three classmates, he had come up with the Facebook's predecessor, Facemash. Mark Zuckerberg finally started to write the code for a new website later known as Facebook in 2004. This new site was equipped with new ideas and more useful features, including a section where users can share their comments. Facebook managed to become popular with many more users at many universities around the country. It only took less than a few months for Mark Zuckerberg to spread his networking site to countless numbers of schools and universities in the United States and Canada.
Six years later TIME magazine made him Person of the Year for his social networking site. In 2018, Forbes included Mark in the list of the 400 richest people in the world.

5、Every morning when the alarm goes off, many people face a hard choice: to snooze (打盹) or not to snooze? If you happen to be an iPhone user, you may have wondered why the snooze button gives you exactly nine minutes. This number is not a casual choice as it is tied to historical design and human sleep science.
The nine-minute snooze period is not unique to the iPhone. In the mid-20th century, when mechanical (机械的) alarm clocks were the main type on the market, a leading producer introduced a snooze alarm. However, the standard gears of mechanical clocks made it difficult to set a double-digit snooze period. Engineers eventually settled on nine minutes, the largest possible single-digit (个位数的), to avoid the need to redesign the clock's mechanism. Apple might have taken the nine-minute snooze to honor this early invention.
From a physiological point of view, a nine-minute period is practical. Our bodies start to fall into the second stage of a sleep cycle about 10 minutes after falling asleep. Therefore, a snooze period of nine minutes allows for less sudden awakening as it helps avoid a deeper stage of sleep. This timing can also reduce sleepiness and make it slightly easier to wake up when the alarm rings again.
The debate over whether snoozing is helpful or harmful continues among sleep experts. Some research suggests that snoozing provides enough time for the body and brain to shift gradually from sleep to wakefulness. On the other hand, other studies argue that while hitting the snooze button might give you a brief feeling of extra rest, it fragments your sleep and makes you more tired than if you wake up with the first alarm. Continuous, undisturbed sleep is generally better for mental abilities and overall health. Finally, understanding your own sleep patterns can help you make the decision between whether to keep hitting the snooze button or embrace the cruel reality of the first alarm.
(1)、Why was a nine-minute snooze time chosen for mechanical alarm clocks?A、To show respect to the early design. B、To follow the trend of other clock producers. D、To avoid the change of the clock's inner structure.(2)、What does the underlined word "fragment" in the last paragraph mean?A、worsen B、break C、shorten D、delay(3)、What does the author suggest at the end of the passage?A、Keep hitting the snooze button to get extra rest.
