1、The International Day of Happiness, falling on March 20 every year, serves to remind people of the significance of happiness. Experts in various fields hold different answers to them.
Sally Lyubomirsky, a researcher of positive psychology, provides a clear description of happiness. combined with a sense that one's life is good, meaningful and worthwhile.
People's levels of subjective (主观的) happiness are influenced by both internal factors and external factors, according to the authors of the book Culture and Psychology. These include their natural personality traits, the quality of their relationships with others, the society they are a part of, and their ability to meet their basic needs.
In an article published on Iran Public Health, three researchers show how twin studies have suggested that genetic factors count for 35-50 percent of happiness. The study also mentioned two genes that may have an effect on happiness, which may help explain the genetic base of happiness in the future.
From the perspective of economics, Ted Pettinger, said that factors affecting happiness can include income, quality of work and quality of consumption. Among them, proper income is key. He believes that at low levels of income, increasing income is generally agreed to increase happiness as it allows a person to buy necessary goods and services such as health care and education.
The truth is that happiness itself is different for everyone, so everyone defines it differently and pursues it in a variety of ways.
A. Several important factors contribute to a person's happiness.
B. In general, happiness is significant to people.
C. With the income, people can have the food, shelter and necessary education.
D. According to her, happiness can be described as the experience of joy or positive well-being,
E. However, after certain income levels, rising income contributes little to overall happiness.
F. More than that, experts in medical fields found that genes might influence happiness.
G. But what exactly is happiness and how can one achieve it?

2、It is well-known that earthquake is one of the most serious natural disasters. Because of its sudden nature, the traditional earthquake prediction method is often difficult to predict it accurately, and has always been a difficult problem in the field of earth science. Recently, artificial intelligence is showing promise in earthquake prediction, challenging the long-held belief that it is impossible. Researchers at the University of Texas, Austin, have developed an AI algorithm (算法) that correctly predicted 70% of earthquakes a week in advance during a trial in China and provided accurate strength calculations (强度计算) for the predicted earthquakes.
The research team believes their method succeeded because they used a relatively simple machine learning approach. The AI was provided with a set of statistical features based on the team's knowledge of earthquake physics (地震物理学), and then instructed to train itself using a five-year database of earthquake recordings. Once trained, the Al provided its prediction by listening for signs of incoming earthquakes within the background sounds in the Earth.
This work is clearly a milestone in research for AI-driven earthquake prediction. "You don't see earthquakes coming," explains Alexandros Savvaidis, a senior research scientist who leads the Texas Seismological Network Program (TexNet). "It's a matter of milliseconds, and the only thing you can control is how prepared you are. Even with the 70% accuracy, that's a huge result and could help minimize economic and human losses and possibly improve earthquake preparation worldwide."
While it is unknown whether the same approach will work at other locations, the researchers are confident that their AI algorithm could produce more accurate predictions if used in areas with reliable earthquake tracking networks. The next step is to test artificial intelligence in Texas, since UT's Bureau TexNet has locations and over six years worth of continuous records, making it an ideal location in 300 earthquakes for these purposes.
Eventually, the authors hope to combine the system with physics-based models. This strategy could prove especially important where data is poor or lacking. "That may be a long way off, but many advances such as this one, are what moves science forward," says Scott Tinker, the bureau's director.
(1)、What can we infer from the passage?A、AI can predict earthquakes accurately. B、AI is provided with accurate strength calculations. C、AI can prevent the potential earthquakes from coming. D、AI forecasts earthquakes by analyzing background sounds.(2)、What makes Texas a better place to do the follow-up tests?A、Building many earthquake stations. B、Over ten years of continuous records. C、Reliable earthquake tracing networks. D、Researcher's confidence in the technology.(3)、What is the author's attitude to the AI algorithm?A、Indifferent. B、Supportive. C、Disapproving. D、Doubtful.(4)、What's the main idea of the text?A、AI helps reduce possible earthquakes by 70%. B、AI predicts earthquakes with a certain accuracy. C、AI algorithm improves earthquake preparation worldwide. D、AI algorithm produces accurate predictions about earthquakes. -
3、Over the years, April Fools' Day has become larger than life. While it may be seen as just a bit of fun, there is more to jokes and humour than may be obvious, begging the question: are the jokes on the 1st of April a good or a bad idea?
Every year, individuals and newspapers present jokes on the 1st of April that may be funny, yet sometimes causing an unexpected upheaval. One radio announcement made in 1949, that a mile-wide swarm of wasps (一群黄蜂) was heading for Auckland, was taken a bit too seriously. The news even came with advice on how to prepare for the incoming insects, resulting in all residents walking outdoors tucking (塞) their trousers into their socks, wearing masks (面罩) as well as setting honey traps outside their doors.
What makes things funny? This is a million-dollar question and one that's not easily answered. First, it's influenced by the context, the culture, and personal opinions, meaning that it's not consistent (一致的) across populations. Besides, if a joke is violating (违反) a norm or rule, it's more likely to be regarded as funny. Such violations need to be harmless, as they can otherwise be considered unpleasant. In terms of personal experience, serious events may be considered funnier over time, while stubbing (踩) a toe, considered a small violation, would lose its comedic effect over time. Interestingly, people, children, in particular, have been found to be more likely to laugh when they are near others compared to when alone.
Jokes may not seem serious but can actually serve social functions like managing emotions and also be used to deal with matters in work. For example, studies have found that there is a meaningful function of humour in healthcare settings, as it strengthens the connection between medical staffs and patients as well as relieves stressful situations linked to end-of-life care among nursing professionals.
However, it's suggested that jokes be used cautiously. For example, David Letterman gained reputation (名声) for an interview he had done with Lindsay Lohan in 2013, when the audience had laughed loudly at his repeated questions about her going to receive treatment. However, 8 years later, his comments were seen as offensive (冒犯的). So it's important to ensure that any violations made are not significant enough to damage your future fame.
(1)、What does the underlined word "upheaval" probably mean in paragraph 2?A、Upset. B、Fun. C、Annoyance. D、Popularity.(2)、What can we learn about jokes from the passage?A、People's opinion of jokes differs. B、Jokes remain humorous all the time. C、Jokes can strengthen our connection. D、Children are more likely to laugh than adults.(3)、How does the author mainly share her understanding of jokes with us?A、By listing figures. B、By making comparisons. C、By giving examples. D、By answering questions.(4)、What's the purpose of the text?A、To tell us the function of jokes. B、To provide information about jokes. C、To help make up funny jokes. D、To propose telling jokes carefully. -

6、阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。续写的词数应为150左右。
When I was in seventh grade, my parents paid a tutor(家庭教师) forty dollars a week for her coming to my house and helping me with math. It ended up raising my marks from fifty to fifty-five.
I had to admit it was mainly my fault. Maybe I should have concentrated my math from the beginning. But studying math was a tough thing. Sitting on a chair to work on confusing math problems for two hours was a slow and painful process. During the process, I would fidget(坐立不安) and have many trips to the refrigerator in an attempt to get off that chair for at least five minutes.
During math tests, my teachers would always stay by my desk. My teachers and friends would frequently ask the question after tests," How's your math this time?" So I became extremely afraid of math. While normal people of my age were scared of some insects and adventurous travels, I feared anything to do with numbers. The thought of a teacher picking on me in class made me feel scared. The red marks on the test paper were also terrifying.
My fear of math got worse in ninth grade. Every report card I received from my new math teacher Ms Robbins had the comment to encourage me, "I'm glad to do what I can to help you." But I couldn't tell her the real reason why I didn't ask for help-I didn't want to be considered stupid. Every question I had was, in my opinion at the time, something that the whole class had understood but I. So instead, I ended up not caring about anything related to math, without working hard on math at all. And I concluded everything would work out in the end
Eventually, my classmates and I took the final test that would lead to our graduation from middle school and stepping into high school. Days after the exam-- on a rainy summer morning, Ms. Robbins called me.

8、How Laughing at Yourself Makes You Attractive
Have you ever embarrassed yourself in public and were laughed at for it? And it's okay — we should even have a laugh about them.
Laughing at yourself means accepting who you really are. You may feel bad about yourself because of past misfortune. However, it's normal to be imperfect. What's important is that you should be honest with yourself about who you are. You won't be able to laugh at yourself without self-acceptance.
Laughing at yourself helps increase your confidence. When you're able to stay optimistic and laugh at yourself, you are likely to be more successful in life. More importantly, it helps you realize your own weaknesses, so you know which areas to do better in.
Laughing at someone else may hurt their feelings even if you didn't intend to, while laughing at yourself does not. You might even bring a smile to their faces. Don't worry about losing respect from others, because people actually appreciate it when you laugh at yourself. Laughing at yourself shows that you have the courage to do so and you're being real about your imperfections, making people think you are likable.
As we all know, humans all make mistakes. So instead of blaming yourself, try to think of your mistakes in a positive way and accept yourself as you are. So please remember the above words.
A. Laughing at yourself makes you popular.
B. Accept yourself despite your imperfections.
C. You should try to understand yourself better.
D. Chances are that we all have these kinds of experiences.
E. Laughing at yourself changes an ideal image of yourself.
F. Learn to laugh at yourself and you will be more attractive.
G. This is because laughing at yourself helps lift your mood in face of difficulties.

9、Have you ever found that you were able to sleep better with an air conditioner or fan running or perhaps with the sound of rain falling outside? If so, then you're already familiar with white noise.
White noise refers to a noise that has a mixture of all the audible (听得见的) frequencies that the human ear can detect. It is a combination of all the frequencies of sound played at once. It can cover the sounds of other noises because of its various frequencies, leading many people to experience its calming effects.
Studies have that listening to white noise positively found affects sleep. For example, people living in a high-noise area of New York City fell asleep faster and spent more of their time in bed asleep while listening to white noise. In another study, listening to white noise through headphones improved sleep quality for seriously ill patients in a loud hospital room. However, more research is needed to confirm whether the characteristics of white noise itself improve sleep or whether the sound primarily helps by covering background noise.
However, a recent analysis of multiple studies looking at white noise's effect on sleep has produced mixed results. The researchers are doubtful about the quality of existing evidence and conclude that further research is necessary in order to widely recommend white noise as a sleep aid. They also note that in some instances, white noise can disturb a person's sleep and may affect their hearing.
Despite that, researchers are still optimistic that the steady hum of white noise might reduce a sleeper's sensitivity to unpredictable noises from the environment, such as transportation sounds like cars and planes, which are considered a major contributor to poor sleep.
(1)、Why does white noise have calming effects?A、It can absorb other noises. B、It can help people sleep better. C、It can be detected by human ears. D、It can cover the sounds of other noises.(2)、How does the author explain the benefits of white noise?A、By giving examples. B、By telling stories. C、By asking questions. D、By making comparisons.(3)、Which statement may researchers agree with according to the last two paragraphs?A、White noise should be strongly recommended as a sleep aid. B、Harmful effects of white noise have become a major concern. C、Poor sleep will make people sensitive to the unpredictable noises. D、More researches are needed to confirm the effect of white noise on sleep.(4)、Which of the following can be a suitable tile for the text?A、How Does White Noise Work? B、Is White Noise Harmful in Any Way? C、Does White Noise Help You Sleep? D、What Are the Benefits of White Noise? -
10、Recently, a group of scientists decided to find out what the funniest joke in the world was. This is obviously a difficult task, as no two people really agree about what is funny and what is not — especially when they are from different countries.
Here is the joke which the experts decided was the funniest joke in the world:
Two hunters were out in the woods. One of them fell to the ground. He didn't seem to be breathing; his eyes were closed. The other hunter took out his mobile phone and called the emergency services. "My friend is dead!" he cried to the operator. "What can I do?" The operator said, "Don't worry. First, make sure he's dead." There was a silence, and then a shot was heard. Bang! The hunter's voice came back on the line. He said, "OK, now what?"
This is perhaps amusing. Culturally, it depends on us knowing that often hunters are not considered to be very intelligent people, and that often they are quite violent. But perhaps this is not so all over the world. It's also quite a black joke — a joke about something that isn't really a funny subject.
The experts also found the second funniest joke in the world. Here it is:
Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson went on a camping trip. After dinner, they went to sleep. Some hours later, Holmes woke up. "Watson, look up at the sky and tell me what you see." "I see millions of stars, Holmes" replied Watson. "And what do you infer from that?" "Well, there are billions of stars...we are a small part of the universe." "Watson, you idiot!" he said. "Someone has stolen our tent!"
I personally think this is better. Can scientists in the end decide what is funny? Some things are much too complicated, even for scientists.
(1)、What can we learn from the first paragraph?A、Few jokes can make scientists laugh. B、Only scientists can find out the funniest joke. C、There are different jokes in different countries. D、People hold different opinions about what is funny.(2)、What does the author think of the first joke?A、It is not so funny as the experts thought. B、It is really the funniest joke he has ever heard. C、It will make readers laugh their head off. D、It shows that not all hunters are intelligent.(3)、What can affect a person's understanding of a joke?A、The person's feeling. B、The length of the joke. C、The person's cultural background. D、The language that the teller uses.(4)、Which of the following is the best title for this text?A、Uninteresting Jokes B、Different Kinds of Jokes C、The Funniest Joke in the World D、Tips on How to Make Others Laugh -

Ten miles away stood a house with shiny red walls, a green garden and an apple tree. A young girl's face would be seen reflecting from one of the large glassy windows. Her name is Maggie. Her eyes were sparkling and on her face there was a smile which could light a million candles. She seemed to be longing for a chance to play like a young child, but she had no strength in her legs because she and her family met with an accident, in which she lost both her legs.
But her spirit was strong. She would be inspired by seeing birds fly. The flying eagle would make her want to fly. She was lonely. She longed for a true friend who would talk to her and teach her to fly or at least tell her stories about soaring into the blue sky.
One evening, Maggie slowly rolled her wheelchair to the giant window and looked out to the many houses that lay across the road. Suddenly she heard someone singing and then could see an old man in a pilot suit singing in glory. The beautiful sound and the melody made the little girl happy. Suddenly he stopped and gazed up toward her. "What are you staring at?" he said angrily. "You think I'm a circus clown? (马戏团小丑)" "No, Sir. I was just listening to you. You sing very well," she said. "I don't need your praises. I don't need anyone!" he shouted. He started to walk to his house and shut the door. Tears rolled down from her apple-red cheeks as the man shouted at her. She was lonely.
Next morning, Maggie pushed her wheelchair across the garden to the stone road as little children played hide-and-seek around her. Suddenly out of nowhere a loading truck came rumbling across toward her. Terrified, she tried to move away from its path but the wheels of her chair were stuck. "Oh my," she thought as the truck came in her direction fast, with the driver unaware of the obstruction in front of him. She screamed loudly but in a split second she was pulled out of her wheelchair by someone and fell on the ground. She closed her eyes and shivered as the truck passed her whistling. As she opened her eyes, she could see a man standing beside her.

It took a few weeks before I was2 asking him what, if anything, he could see. I wasn't just3 by his running times. He also had a beautiful smile that lit up the room.
We had our first4 date climbing the famous sand dune on Pacific Coast Highway. Eight years into our marriage, Adrian decided to learn to5, so he could fulfill his dream of competing in an Ironman triathlon.
Adrian's first lesson was a6, but his coach's enthusiasm was short-lived. His next instructor was easy to give in and recommended my husband7 swimming. So, being a competitive swimmer in high school, I was8 I could teach him.
Soon I realized how much of a9 swimming was for my husband, even with a tether rope. His progress at each lesson was slow but10. Fortunately these days we laugh because Adrian is even faster than I am. He has grown more13 with me when I have to raise my voice. I,14, no longer say, "You went the wrong way!", which makes him feel bad. Instead, I say, "Over here," to which he15 , and then swims back toward me.

16、"Hobbies" is a term that refers to the activities done for relaxation and enjoyment in your spare time. Hobbies are valuable as some of them make you skilled and knowledgeable. I will list some of the hobbies that are productive and worth developing.
Reading makes a full man. Children must develop the hobby of reading at an early age by reading storybooks, poems and so on. However, if you didn't do that in your childhood, don't worry. The more a person reads, the broader his vision becomes.
Cooking is another good hobby. Many of those who enjoy the art of cooking take a training course in hotel management. After completion of the course, some of them can get placed in famous hotels and restaurants, and many will start their own business.
Most of the people take up the hobby just for pleasure and peace. They enjoy doing it and build up a great collection over time. Those who paint really well can exhibit their talent and gain some appreciation. They may also use the hobby to earn some money, if they wish to.
Facebooking was not considered as a constructive hobby, but Facebooking can turn out to be highly useful nowadays. Many people who know how to attract people with awesome contents build huge fans online and they do well on facebooking.
A. There are no age limits to the hobby.
B. Painting is an art of expressing views and on paper.
C. The sooner a hobby is developed, the better you perform.
D. Some people take up this as a hobby and later as a career.
E. With time going by, we will miss out on some good hobbies.

17、"What do you mean by this phrase? It's incorrect and adds nothing to the sentence. Omit (省略)." Professor Jones's critical feedback on my paper hurt me when I first read it. I scanned his comments for a "Good job!" or "I love this idea," but they were nowhere to be found.
Everyone likes warmth and encouragement, but purely positive affirmations (肯定) don't communicate what can be improved. Research conducted on Character Lab Research Network finds that direct, useful feedback requiring students to revise their own work is more effective. For Professor Jones, this looked like a note at the end of another paper: "I'm sure things will improve as the term and year wear on." However, feedback that does the work for a student—correcting a misspelled word, rewriting a sentence—can signal a teacher's low expectations.
When kids see comments that suggest what needs to be changed, they come to realize they can do things on their own and become more independent learners. As a bonus, this kind of feedback lets students know that their teacher believes in them.
As for me, I was benedictory for Professor Jones's pointed criticism which let me know that he took me seriously. He was expecting me to do better, and the detailed comments scrawled (潦草地写) on every page gave me the tools to improve. Teachers can add affirmations to their feedback as long as it's not the only thing they're doing.
Don't confuse warmth with promoting a growth mindset. Being nice isn't the same as showing someone you believe they can improve. So give detailed feedback that sets young people up to take charge of their own learning. For example, instead of rewriting a sentence, say: "This is a run-on sentence. Try reading it out loud and add punctuation in places where you naturally take a breath." Ask worth-exploring questions that inspire students to think about their approach, then let them revise on their own. When it comes to writing, the easiest path isn't always the best one.
(1)、How did the author initially feel about Professor Jones's feedback?A、Happy and motivated. B、Upset and disappointed. C、Indifferent and unconcerned. D、Confident and encouraged.(2)、What is the key aspect of effective feedback mentioned in the article?A、It should be brief and to the point. B、It should be warm and encouraging. C、It should be written at the end of the paper. D、It should be up to students to fix their own work.(3)、What does the underlined word "benedictory" mean in paragraph 4?A、Responsible. B、Generous. C、Regretful. D、Grateful.(4)、What should teachers do when checking student's paper according to the text?A、Give students general praise. B、Rewrite sentences for students. C、Provide students critical support. D、Show students corrected assignments. -
18、The Mona Lisa is the famous Leonardo da Vinci painting of a woman with a mysterious smile. This week, the woman parted her lips to whisper an ancient secret.
Scientists using X-rays to examine the chemical structure of a small part of the painting discovered a technique Leonardo used in the work. An oil paint used for it was a special, new chemical mixture, which suggests that the Italian artist was in an experimental mood when he worked on the painting in the 16th century.
"He loved to experiment, and each of his paintings is completely different technically," said Victor Gonzalez, a chemist who has studied the chemical element of several works by Leonardo and other artists. The researchers found a rare lead compound (铅化合物) — plumbonacrite, in Leonardo's first layer of paint. The discovery proved that da Vinci most likely used lead oxide to thicken and help dry his paint. The paint in the study is about the thickness of a human hair, lying in the top right area of the painting.
The scientists looked into its atomic (原子的) structure using X-rays, moving particles at the speed of light, permitting researchers to look deeper into the paint structure. "Plumbonacrite is really a fingerprint of his recipe, as it's the first time we can chemically confirm it," Gonzalez said.
Rembrandt, the Dutch master, may have employed a similar blend in his 17th-century paintings. Gonzalez and fellow researchers have also detected plumbonacrite in his art. It's believed that Leonardo used lead oxide powder, which has an orange color, to thicken his oil paint and speed up drying. "What you will get is an oil that has a very nice golden color," Gonzalez said. "It flows more like honey."
But the Mona Lisa — said by the Louvre to be a portrait (肖像) of Lisa Gherardini, the wife of a Florentine silk businessman — There's more to her gaze than meets the eye. "What we are saying is just a little brick in the knowledge," Gonzalez said.
(1)、What technique did da Vinci potentially use in the Mona Lisa?A、The employment of tailored X-rays. B、The application of a rare lead compound. C、A special mixture of oil paints. D、The universal use of atomic structures.(2)、What does the use of plumbonacrite suggest about Leonardo's painting approach?A、Willingness to experiment. B、Giving priority to conventions. C、Technically identical output. D、Concentration on paint drying.(3)、What is Gonzalez's attitude towards the use of lead oxide powder?A、Dismissive. B、Objective. C、Doubtful. D、Favorable.(4)、What can we infer about the Mona Lisa from the last paragraph?A、It still holds secrets yet to be uncovered. B、It echoes the realities of the worldly life. C、It's a perfect combination of old and new. D、It serves as the key to understanding Leonardo. -
19、Located in the Oaxaca, Mexico, the fishing village Huatulco is home to thousands of baby turtles. I had three open days on my calendar, and a desire to save some turtles. And so, away I went to Huatulco with a powerhouse of willing protectors calling themselves Wildcoast.
To carry out my mission, I was taken to La Escobilla to experience Wildcoast in action. Just one hour north of Huatulco, this protected beach is where mass turtle nesting happens. The natural phenomenon occurs at 12 beaches around the world, three of which are in Mexico. Having just four days during rainy season, thousands of female sea turtles go ashore to lay their eggs.
Between threats like illegal hunters, natural enemies and oil spills, the hatchlings (幼龟) have the whole world against them. As recently as 2012, turtle hunting was not only common practice, but an important part of the culture and diet in the Oaxacan communities.
Wildcoast rescues turtle eggs and recreates habitats. Thanks to their efforts, various sea turtles have made a major comeback, with now over 72 million turtles being born.
I got to hold 50 of the hatchlings in a bowl. Statistically speaking, just one in 1,000 baby turtles will make it to adulthood. Staring at the bowl, I so badly wanted them to find shelter somewhere in the ocean.
Finally, it was time to set free those little ones. Having made sure no suspicious (可疑的) people were nearby, I let out the hatchlings. With each set of waves, we witnessed the survival of the fittest, some crawling (爬行) past the whitewash while others crashed back to shore. A bunch of birds was ready to div e into the sea for their targets.
"One in 1,000."
Nature was both cruel and sympathetic. After 30 long minutes, the last hatchling made its way to the sea.
(1)、What is Wildcoast?A、A lively beach housing various wild animals. B、An official organization tackling ocean oil leaks. C、An experienced team exploring the coastal areas. D、A voluntary group assisting the survival of turtles.(2)、Why was the author taken to La Escobilla?A、To liberate collected hatchlings. B、To protect dedicate turtle eggs. C、To witness mass turtle nesting. D、To record Oaxacan cultures.(3)、Which threat does the author want to protect the turtles from?A、Water pollution. B、Human hunting. C、Natural enemies. D、Ocean waves.(4)、How might the author feel when seeing the hatchlings crawling?A、Relieved. B、Attached. C、Concerned. D、Annoyed. -
20、It's no wonder that the train from London to Edinburgh is one of Trainline's top three bestselling routes for American travelers. Here are the most popular routes to explore the Scottish Highlands by train, all starting in Edinburgh.
For those seeking out the fabled Loch Ness monster, Inverness is the closest train station to the famous lake. From the station, travelers can take a bus or taxi to Fort Augustus and board a boat tour or fishing charter to try to spot the creature. Even if she isn't found, Loch Ness is still a sight for the eyes, with a historic port and trails through the forests and past waterfalls. Being Scotland's second-largest lake and holding more water than any other lake in the U. K., Loch Ness is a great place to fish or boat.
Although a long train ride, the trip from Edinburgh to Mallaig, a charming fishing village, is worth it. This route offers some of the best scenery in the world — in fact, riders might recognize the train, which goes over the Glenfinnan Viaduct, as Harry Potter's Hogwarts Express. Travelers can board the 19th-century-inspired Jacobite Steam Train and wind past attractive villages, the Morar River and beaches.
At an altitude of over 4,412 feet, Ben Nevis is an ancient volcano that exploded and collapsed on itself to become the tallest mountain in the British Isles. Travelers can take the train to Fort William, a town offering castles, distilleries, and rocky coastlines. The town is also titled as the "Outdoor Capital" of Scotland, so thrill seekers can go skiing and hiking to their hearts' desire. If hiking Ben Nevis doesn't sound appealing, there's also a boat tour that provides impressive views.
(1)、What can be learned about the train to Mallaig?A、It has the longest train route in Scotland. B、It goes past a famous lake in Scotland. C、It once appeared in the movie Harry Potter. D、It was invented in the 19th century.(2)、What do the three routes have in common?A、They extend along the south coast. B、They win popularity with global travelers. C、They offer a chance to explore historical castles. D、They share the same starting station.(3)、Which place is best suited to sports lovers?A、Fort Augustus. B、Mallaig. C、Glenfinnan Viaduct. D、Fort William.
