When I was nine, my greatest desire in life was to own a po go stick (蹦蹦跷). I had recently learned to walk on a pair of stilts (高跷) my dad had made for me, and I thought that if I also learnt to use the pogo stick, the circus would want to hire me. When the new year season came around, I told my mother that the only thing I wanted was a po go stick. And so the New Year's Day was both great and disappointing. I got some nice gifts but I didn't get the one that I really wanted.
