Limiting yourself to only one type of people that share the same ideology as you can be comforting but it doesn't get you anywhere in life and that is the truth. Share what defines you and learn from others, and this will make you wiser. Cultivate new friendships, and this will be extremely beneficial for your future.

Never Back Away From Learning

You must be the kind of person who learns something new every day, you must develop a thirst for knowledge. Take new classes, read books, listen to educational podcasts, and the list goes on and on. In the end, you will be able to tackle a problem from different perspectives and angles, making everything easier.

Coffee is probably the world's least expensive success power tool. Coffee builds better teams and increases your leadership ability. Coffee also increases your immunity. Unfortunately, we may not be enjoying the benefits or pleasures of coffee too much longer. According to ecologists, there's a good chance that in 20 or 30 years, the varieties of coffee that we drink today will be extinct（灭绝的）. And we'll be drinking a coffee substitute that more or less resembles the drink we enjoy today.

The problem, of course, is the pace of climate change. Successful coffee cultivation has three preconditions: a warm, highly stable（稳定的） tropical（热带的） climate with altitudes that keep air temperature between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius, rich soil full of natural nutrients, and an ecological environment that's pest and disease resistant.

Coffee is a crop that is only grown in a thin band called the "coffee belt" close to the equator （赤道）. It simply won't grow anywhere else. Unfortunately, the "coffee belt" is extremely vulnerable to climate change. If the air is too cold or too hot, it prevents the growth of the coffee plant. Climate change also creates environmental stress, which spreads parasites, pests and plant diseases. All of these increase the fragility of the coffee crop and create the possibility of species-destroying rot.

Unfortunately, almost all of these species exist only in Ethiopia, a country that climate change is already hammering. As the environmental nonprofit USAID points out: "Ethiopia is one of the world's most drought-prone countries. The country is faced with numerous development challenges that exacerbate its weakness facing climate change including increases in temperature, unstable rainfall and unpredictability of seasonal rain, and increased incidences of drought and other extreme events."

In other words, even as climate change threatens coffee as it exists today, climate change is also eating away at the root source which we might turn to for replacement species.

What to do? Well, take the time to savor each cup of coffee you drink. Beyond that, stop electing the politicians who deny climate change.

Producing genuine tears on demand is one of the hardest parts of my job as an actress. Acting teachers will tell you that in order to cry on screen you need to summon up something personal—a fear, an inner secret, a sad experience—that taps into your deepest emotions.

This may sound strange, but the inner secret I use when I need to cry during a movie scene is the image of an elephant. It's an image that haunts me, an image that will remain in my heart and mind for as long as I live.

That's why I'm supporting a new United Nations campaign against the illegal trade in wildlife, which is pushing many species—not just elephants—to the edge of extinction in every corner of the world. Under the banner "Wild for Life", this campaign serves to raise awareness about the illegal trade in wildlife and encourage everyone to take action against these crimes. The time for tears is over. The time for action is upon us.

After more than 2 months trapped in a collapsed copper（铜） and gold mine in the desert, all of 33 Chilean miners（矿工） were rescued Wednesday. With ingenuity and cutting-edge technology, the men have survived for 69 days, some 700 meters underground fending off hunger, anxiety and illness in a record-setting feat of survival. How did they survive the ordeal? Have a close look.

Before the miners were reached, they survived for 17 days on food already stored in the emergency shelter. They rationed themselves to 2 spoonfuls of tuna, half a cookie and a half-full glass of milk every 48 hours. Then a 6-inch diameter bore hole allowed food and water supplies to be sent down to the mine. Doctors then put the men on a solid diet of meat and rice, with a strict 2,200-calorie limit to keep them slim enough to fit in the evacuation shaft, which is just 66cm in diameter.

Yonny Barrios Rojas, 50, used knowledge gained on a nursing course he attended to administer medicine to the group and perform daily health checks.

"I was with God and I was with the devil. They fought and God won," Mario Sepulveda, the second to be rescued, told CNN. He said he grabbed God's hand and never doubted that he would be rescued.

The snowstorm was supposed to hit the evening of Monday, Jan.31. I was working from home but I had to leave that afternoon and go to my office to sign an emergency financial aid check for a student. The route to the office took about 30 minutes along the highway. When I got there, my colleague came to my office to co-sign the check, and left. As I was packing up, I noticed he had left his laptop bag in my office.

"I can bring it to you," I assured him. It was just past 4:30 p. m. The snow wasn't supposed to start until later. On the way to his place, I picked up a new cellphone charger, and filled up my SUV with gas.

It took me about 15 minutes to get to my colleague's house, where I dropped off the laptop case and got back on the road. Then the snow started, and it was coming down fast. Within minutes, the windows were fogging up and getting covered with snow, so I rolled down my driver's side window, thinking I could better follow the edge of the road and keep to a straight line. But really, I didn't have a clue where I was or even which side of the road I was on.

I called 911, but the dispatcher（调度员） told me that nobody was coming to get me until morning at the earliest. The storm would continue for longer than predicted and I worried I'd freeze to death.

At 8 p. m., my cellphone rang. It was the son of the farmer, André Bouvier, who owned the land beside the road I was stuck in. He told me that his dad had just helped two other cars get to his house, a father and his two kids, and a couple with their daughter. He comforted me that his dad was coming to get me.
