    On 25th October, 1881, a baby boy was born in Malaga, Spain. He grew up to be a famous painter in the twentieth century(世纪). His name was Pablo Picasso. 

    Picasso showed his talent(天赋) and love for art at a very young age. He could draw before he could talk. Before any other words, he learned to say"lapiz". That means"pencil"in Spanish(西班牙语). 

    Picasso is best known for his Cubist(立体主义的) pictures. In these pictures, he broke down people or things into shapes like squares and triangles. At first, people thought his works looked strange(奇怪的). Later, more and more people felt the beauty and power of his paintings, so they got interested in them. This new style of painting became popular across the world and Picasso got a lot of attention(关注). Picasso gave his whole life toart. He died on 8 April, 1973. 

    Picasso's works change the attitudes(态度) and ideas about art in our world. Today, a Picasso painting costs millions of dollars. To many people, modern art means the works of Picasso.
