Today, we are going to talk about Wang Haoze, a member of the Shenzhou-19 crew（神舟十九号乘组）. In 2024, Wang Haoze became the third Chinese1 to travel to space. 

She was born in 1990 in Hebei Province. Her mother is a middle school teacher and her father is a policeman. 2 in a family like that, she learned the importance of working hard from an early age. 

During her time at university, she showed great3 ability, so she was always at the top of class. In addition to studying, she was also a sports lover and often took part in sports competitions. 

In 2015, Wang finished her studies and started working as a rocket engineer （工程师）in Beijing. One day, she heard about the selection（选拔 ） of4 and decided to try for it. About 2, 500 people took part in it. Finally, Wang5 all the tests and became the only woman among 18 astronauts. 

From then on, Wang Haoze faced many new 6 . She went through7 times at sea and in deserts. And one test was that she couldn't sleep8 72 hours. However, 9 could make her give up. "I kept going and after nearly 1, 000 times of practice, I finally met the training standards, " Wang said. On October 30th, 2024, she was 10 sent into space with two other astronauts, and realised her lifelong dream of travelling to space.

I'm very proud that you have chosen me to speak to you today. 

I have three roses here: a red one, a yellow one and a white one. These roses are to thank three groups of people for the three most important things that I have learned. ▲

I give the red rose to my friends. When I started school here, my Chinese was not good, and some of my mistakes were very funny. I once tried to say"xiexie", but I said"xiaxia" instead. Of course some people laughed, and I felt quite silly. But they were not laughing at me. They taught me to say many things in Chinese and kindly invited me to join them. Today, thanks to their kindness, my Chinese is much better, and we have become friends. So, let me say"xiexie" again to all of you for your help. 

I give the white rose to my teachers who have taught me that there is no success without effort. When I started running in the 800 meters, I always finished last and I just wanted to give up. But the P. E. teacher, Ms. Huang, helped me. She ran along with me, and she said, "You only really lose if you give up!" I still can't run fast enough, but I've learned to try my best, not only with running but with whatever else I do. 

I give the yellow rose to my parents for teaching me that love is about trust. When I wanted to learn the violin, my father told me that I should work harder at math. I was disappointed. Then, on the morning of my birthday, I woke up to find a beautiful violin at my bedside. There was a note from my father, "I'm sure you will be good at music. I know that you will be better at math. 

"I'm sure that you all have your own memories about the happiness of the last three years, and the people whom you want to thank for it, so let's all stand up and say, " Thank you, friends, teachers and parents! We love you!"

Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics Opens with Historic Ceremony

On the evening of February 6 local time, the 2026 Winter Olympics officially started in Milan and Cortina d' Ampezzo, Italy. The opening ceremony made history with a special" four-city linkage" model, connecting Milan, Cortina and two other Italian cities using advanced technology. 

The ceremony, themed" Armonia"(Harmony和谐), showed Italy's rich culture and modern charm. As a world-famous fashion capital, Milan had top Italian designers create beautiful costumes for performers, mixing fashion and winter sports. The most important par was the simultaneous（同步的）lighting of two Olympic cauldrons（圣火盆）— one at Milan's iconic Arch of Peace and the other at Cortina's Piazza Dibona. The cauldrons were inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's art. They showed harmony between cities and nature. 

Many famous stars gave wonderful performances. Five-time Grammy winner Mariah Carey sang a song in Italian to loud cheers. Famous Italian singer Andrea Bocelli and Chinese pianist Lang Lang also performed, building a cultural bridge through music. 

The Chinese delegation（代表团）made history at these Games with its largest-ever overseas lineup. It had 286 members, including 126 athletes set to compete in 91 events across 7 sports. The team's average age was 25. It was led by Olympic champions like Gu Ailing and Su Yiming. Speed skater Ning Zhongyan and short track speed skater Zhang Chutong served as the flag bearers, leading the delegation to enter as the 19th team in the opening ceremony. 

The 2026 Winter Olympics will run until February 22 with 116 events in total. As the first multi-city Winter Olympics, it shows the Olympic spirit and brings different cultures together. China's full participation（参与）reflects the rapid development of its winter sports. Let's cheer for all athletes as they chase their dreams on ice and snow!

China Aims for First Private Space Tourism Flights by 2028

China is set to enter a new era of space exploration（探索）, with its first private manned suborbital（亚轨道的）tourism project scheduled to launch（发射）in 

2028. On January 22, a private aerospace company said that its spacecraft Chuanyuezhe-1 will carry paying tourists to the edge of space, known as the Karman Line（卡门线）. 

Among the first group of over twenty passengers is popular actor Huang ingyu. "It's a great honor to fly to space aboard a Chinese-made spaceship, " Huang said in a video announcement, adding that he will take professional training for the journey. The different list also includes respected scientist, leaders from business and technology, and even a humanoid robot. Each ticket is priced at 3 million yuan, with a 10% deposit to secure a seat. 

The Chuanyuezhe-1 is designed to carry seven people to an altitude（海拔）of 100 kilometers. During he flight, tourists will experience weightlessness for three to six minutes and enjoy breathtaking views of earth through a large window. The company states that the spacecraft's reusable "Cloud Landing System" has passed strict tests, ensuring a safe return. 

This project represents（代表）a big change. Space travel, once only a dream for the public, is becoming more accessible. While currently expensive, advances in technology promise a future where more people might look down at our planet from the stars, turning humanity's oldest dream into a real new chapter. 

During the Jin Dynasty, there was a child named Che Yin. He was smart and loved to read. He grew up in a poor family and couldn't afford lamp(灯) oil to study at night. 

One night he saw fireflies(萤火虫) outside his house and came up with  idea. He caught some fireflies in a cloth bag and hung it up as a lamp. It is said that he spent all of his summer nights (read) like this. 

Another child named Sun Kang who lived during the same period also loved reading. One night during winter, Sun used up all of his lamp oil and couldn't study at night. When he (wake) up at midnight, he saw the snow reflecting(反射) the moonlight outside his house. (sudden), he thought that he could use the reflected light to read! He was freezing cold,  he still took out his books and read. 

In the past, people had a much (nard) time studying than we do now. Paper and writing brushes were so expensive  many families couldn't afford them. Students even had to travel over (mountain) and rivers in order to find a good teacher. However, these difficulties did not stop young minds  learning. 

These are two old Chinese stories called nangying yingxue. People are (encourage) by the two boys' hard work even today. Now, we have better conditions. We students should cherish them and learn from the two boys. 

On April 19, 2026, the second Beijing E-Town Half Marathon and Humanoid Robot Half Marathon (人形机器人半程马拉松) was held successfully in Beijing. It is the world's first such event, and it has received great popularity at home and abroad  people and experts. 

More than 100 teams took  in the race. Robots were divided into two kinds: self-controlled and remote-controlled ones. Compared with last year, more teams preferred self-controlled robots,  showed the progress of robot technology. 

The 21. 0975-kilometre track was full of small hills and turning roads.It  a big challenge for robot performance. Seven service stations were built along the track to  support during the race. 

After a close competition, a robot  Lihtning won the first place. It ran steadily and set a new record. It ran far more  than most other robots.  amazing, the top three all came from the same team. 

Though some robots failed halfway, most of them  running to the finishing line. They tried their best till the end. This event shows China has made great  in the humanoid robot industry. 

Xian Xinghai was a famous musician in China who wrote one of the greatest pieces of music of the 20th century. He wrote nearly 300 songs and an opera during his lifetime. 

Xian was born in Macao in 1905. His father died before he was born and he led a poor life with his mother. He learned to play the violin when he was 13. At the beginning, his violin was so cheap and bad ly made that he couldn't perform well. Xian didn't stop practicing and soon showed his talents. In 1934, he was one of the first Chinese students who were sent to study in a music school in Paris. Before graduation（毕业）Xian became an excellent student who got high praise for his talents. 

In 1935, he returned to China to fight against the Japanese enemies. Later, he came to Yan' an to teach music. Although there were no pianos in Yan' an, Xian still wrote some of his most important pieces that are of great value, including The Yellow River, whose popularity continues to this day. 

In May 1940, Xian was sent to the Soviet Union（苏联）by the Chinese Communist Party（共产党）to write music for movies. In the Soviet Union, life was very hard. He had a bad cough and developed a lung（肺） illness and died in 1945. What a pity!

Xian's music encouraged millions of Chinese people. Wherever he went, his music gave people courage and strength to fight against enemies during wartime. Now it is regarded as our national treasure left for the future world to hear.
