1. A story of friendship between a human and a beast is familiar, but one between a man and a penguin is rare. It began when 71-year-old Brazilian fisherman Joao found an oil-covered penguin on a Rio de Janeiro beach, close to death.
The kindhearted fisherman knew that he could not simply walk away from the poor penguin. So Joao cleaned the oil off the penguin's feathers and nursed it back to health. He started taking care of the poor penguin and fed it with fish to recover the energy it had lost. Soon, he decided to name his newfound friend Dindim. Right after Dindim was able to recover, Joao attempted to release the penguin back into the sea. However, Dindim would not leave his side.
If you are thinking that their one-of-a-kind friendship ended there, then you are in for a big surprise! Apparently, Dindim was so touched by the local fisherman's kind gesture that it cannot forget about him and considered where he lives as its second home. Hence, each year, Dindim would travel over 5,000 miles just to see and be reunited with Joao, the man who saved its life. In fact, for the past four years, Dindim has already spent 8 months of the year with the kindhearted fisherman in its second home.
According to Professor Krajweski, the one who interviewed Joao for Globo TV, Dindim was the first ever penguin that he had encountered to be sweet, thoughtful, and attached to its rescuer. But he has an explanation about such remarkable incident. Meanwhile, this heartwarming story of a unique friendship has made its way to the big screen. In My Penguin Friend, Brazilian director David Schurmann adds creative touches to the true story, sometimes going beyond the original facts. Although Schurmann aimed to subtly (巧妙地) include an environmental message, his main goal was to offer hope and relief to audiences.
(1)、How did Joao help Dindim?A、He released it into the sea. B、He called nurses to clean it. C、He trained it in learning tricks. D、He helped it to restore strength.(2)、What was Schurmann's primary goal to make My Penguin Friend?A、To uplift viewers. B、To arouse attention. C、To inform audiences. D、To document a story.(3)、What message does the story try to convey?A、Love me, love my dog. B、Good deeds bring good returns. C、Every cloud has a silver lining. D、Birds of a feather flock together.二、B

2. There's an enormous amount of personal health information people now feed or tap into digital monitors, health apps, search engines and other online tools. If the same information were provided in your doctor's office, your privacy would be safeguarded. But that's not how the digitized health world works.
Instead, we have an ecosystem of abuse (滥用) in which health technology companies operate largely outside the law that requires doctors and other medical personnel (人员), hospitals and insurers to protect an individual's health information.
That means technology companies can — and do — dig your digital data for clues about your health status, accessing information like prescriptions (处方) you have purchased and other health services you might have sought, and potentially link this information to your name, address, email address and other personally identifying information. The data can then be used by platforms including Facebook and Google to help advertisers target promotions or other communications to you.
It's a huge hole in health privacy protections that comes from the privacy law, which protects interactions between patients, medical professionals and insurers but does not, in most cases, protect patient health data that is recorded on new technologies.
Closing the patient privacy gap can — and should — be a priority for lawmakers. The consequences of digital exposure for those seeking reproductive services have drawn significant concern and attention. These worries are reasonable. But reproductive care is only one area of health services where private patient information is digitally disclosed.
Therefore, lawmakers must take action to protect the privacy of people who are now online for all manners of personal, professional and other reasons. Until then, a narrowly targeted approach that protects health privacy may be politically easier to come into effect. The explosion of digital health technology and the dramatic increase in its use in the past few years require it greatly.
(1)、What's the author's attitude towards the present privacy law?A、Approving. B、Critical. C、Cautious. D、Ambiguous.(2)、What does the underlined word "it" in Paragraph 6 refer to?A、The spread of health service. B、People's privacy. C、A narrowly targeted approach. D、The explosion of digital technology.(3)、What is the purpose of the text?A、To introduce a debate on the effect of technology. B、To explain how the digitized health world works. C、To report cases of illegal information exposure. D、To advocate improvement in the privacy law.三、C

3. Imagine you're writing a poem, rhymes must be paired up before you start a new line. It turns out that AI does something similar! When Claude, a large language model (LLM), is given the first line "he saw a carrot and had to grab it", it begins thinking about words like "rabbit" almost immediately, writing the next sentence to end at the appropriate rhyme.
Such forethought is unexpected. Scientists at Anthropic, the lab that developed Claude, built a tool and they discovered some unexpected complexity.
The tool, a "digital microscope", lets scientists look at which parts of the AI's neural (神经的) network light up when it's working on different tasks. If a particular area of the LLM lights up whenever it produces words like rabbit, then that gets marked as being related to rabbits.
This has let the team solve some open questions in AI research, for example, whether a multilingual (多语言的) chatbot has awareness of concepts beyond language. When Claude is asked for the opposite of "big" in English, or the same concept in Chinese, the same feature lights up in every case, before more language-specific circuits kick in to "translate" the concept of smallness into a particular word. This suggests that AI might have a deeper understanding of the world than we thought.
Other insights, though, are less encouraging. When Claude itself is asked to reason, printing out its chain of thought to answer maths questions, the microscope suggests that the way the model says it reached a conclusion, and what it actually thought, might not always be the same. Worse still, ask a leading question — suggesting that the answer "might be 4", and it will specifically add numbers that ultimately lead it to agree with the question, even if the suggestion is wrong.
But being able to gain insight into the mind of an LLM provides clues as to how to stop it doing the same in the future. The goal, after all, is not to have to do brain surgery, but to know what it's thinking.
(1)、What does the writer intend to show through the example in paragraph 1?A、AI can write texts as programmed. B、AI can plan sentences in advance. C、AI can deal with complex tasks. D、AI can simplify rhyming lines.(2)、How does "digital microscope" function in the research?A、By tracking AI's thinking activities. B、By working on different jobs. C、By activating AI's "brain" potential. D、By matching language patterns.(3)、What can be inferred from paragraph 5 about Claude?A、It may make stuff up. B、It may skip chains of thought. C、It may leave clues out. D、It may give logical reasoning.(4)、Which of the following titles best suits this text?A、Why AI Still Gets It Wrong B、Chatbots' Language Magic C、Looking Inside AI's Mind D、The Rise of AI Chatbots四、第二节 语句排序(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)

5. When was the last time you updated your resume? If it's been a while, you might want to give it a refresh. Here's some advice on how to write a resume that's both competitive and up-to-date.
A standard resume typically begins with some key information at the top, such as your name and contact number. You don't need to include your home address. Doing so might suggest you aren't open to remote work opportunities. Never underestimate how a shared academic interest can instantly build connection with the readers.
Adding a paragraph of three-to-five sentences summarizing your professional identity and career is crucial. Use descriptive language to define your role, emphasize unique skills, and state career goals — ultimately showing how you plan to contribute to your field.
This acts as an enhanced digital version of your resume, offering additional features. Hiring managers often search for candidates online before interviews. Providing this link makes it easier for them to access relevant details about your qualifications.
Resume gaps aren't unusual, but they should be handled thoughtfully. A few ways can help address these gaps, such as listing work history by year instead of month to cover shorter unemployment periods. If needed, unpaid community work and volunteer service during the gap should be included. For longer gaps, briefly explain them in your cover letter.
A. Don't forget, however, to add your major.
B. Be aware that the standard is always changing.
C. This could significantly decrease your chances of being hired.
D. For a fuller professional picture, include a link to your profile.
E. The best way to handle the gaps is by removing it from your resume.
F. If asked during an interview, discuss them honestly rather than avoid.
G. This section should clarify your expertise, strengths, and key achievements.
