Last Sunday, Lily went shopping with her mom. They went to a big supermarket near their home. Lily needed a new schoolbag—her old one was broken. They looked at many schoolbags. Finally, Lily chose a pink one with a rabbit pattern. It cost 85 yuan. Her mom also bought some fruits: apples, bananas and oranges. The apples were 5 yuan a kilo, and the bananas were 3 yuan a kilo. They paid for the things at the checkout and went home happily.

Tom's birthday is next week. His dad wants to buy him a toy car as a gift. He went to a toy shop yesterday. The shop had many kinds of toy cars: big ones, small ones, and ones that could run fast. Tom's dad looked at a blue toy car—it could make sounds and light up. The shop assistant said it was 60 yuan. Tom's dad thought it was a good price. He bought it and also bought a small toy bear for Tom's little sister. He was sure Tom would love the gift.

Every Saturday morning, Emma's mom goes to the vegetable market. The market is very busy with many sellers. She buys fresh vegetables there, like tomatoes, carrots and cabbages. The vegetables are cheaper than in the supermarket. Sometimes she buys some eggs and chicken too. Emma likes going to the market with her mom, because she can buy candy from a small shop next to the market. They usually go home at 11:00 a.m. with a big bag of food.

Woman: An adventure at the airport.

Bob: Can I have two seats at the back, please?

Lucy needed a new dress for her school party. She went to a clothes shop with her friend Mary. The shop had many beautiful dresses. Lucy tried on a red dress first—it was too small. Then she tried a yellow one—it was too long. Finally, she tried a purple dress. It fit her well and she looked pretty in it. The dress cost 98 yuan. Lucy had 100 yuan, so she paid for it and got 2 yuan change. Mary also bought a hair clip to match her new skirt. They were both happy with their purchases.

Last weekend, Mr. Brown went shopping for his family. He made a shopping list first: milk, bread, eggs, and a jacket for his son. He went to a supermarket first. He bought milk (6 yuan), bread (4 yuan), and eggs (10 yuan). Then he went to a clothing shop to buy the jacket. The shop had jackets in blue, black and gray. His son liked blue best, so Mr. Brown bought a blue jacket. It cost 120 yuan. When he got home, he checked his shopping list—he bought everything on the list. His family was very happy.

Online shopping is very popular today. People can buy almost anything online: clothes, books, food, and even toys. It's easy—you just need a phone or a computer. You can shop at any time, even at night. When you order something, the shop sends it to your home in a few days. But online shopping has some problems. Sometimes the things you get are not the same as the pictures. And you can't try on clothes before buying. So, many people still like going to shops to buy things—they can see and touch the products.

Anna went to a bookshop to buy a storybook. She looked at the children's section—there were many storybooks about animals, princesses and adventures. She wanted a book about animals. The shop assistant helped her find a book called "The Little Rabbit's Journey". Anna read a few pages—it was very interesting. The book cost 25 yuan. Anna paid with her pocket money. On her way home, she met her friend Tom. She told Tom about the new book, and Tom said he wanted to borrow it after she finished reading. Anna was happy to share.
