Rabbits are cute and fluffy animals. They have long ears and big round eyes, which help them see in the dark. Their fur can be brown, black, white, or even spotted. Rabbits love eating plants—grass, carrots, and clover are their favorite foods. They are very fast and can jump high to run away from danger. Some rabbits live in tunnels under the ground, while others make homes in tall grass or bushes. They like to live together in groups because they are friendly animals.

Kangaroos are amazing animals that live only in Australia. They have strong back legs, so they can hop very fast. A long tail helps them keep balanced when hopping. The most special thing about kangaroos is the pouch on their belly—it's like a pocket for carrying their babies. Baby kangaroos stay in the pouch until they are big enough. Kangaroos have soft and thick fur, which keeps them warm in cold weather. You can often see them hop around in the wild.

There are many interesting animals in the world. Pandas only live in China. They live on bamboo and eat for twelve hours a day. People love them because they are fat and lovely. Elephants live in Asia and Africa. They are the largest land animals and can live 50 to 60 years. They eat grass and fruit and like water very much. Snakes love the sun. In cold places, they sleep in winter like bears. Snakes can't hear—they use their tongues to smell the air.

There are many kinds of animals in the world. Pandas only live in China. They live on（以......为食）bamboo. They like eating very much, and they eat for twelve hours a day.Many people love pandas very much, because they're fat and lovely.

 Elephants live in Asia( 亚洲) and Africa(非洲). Elephants can live 50 to 60 years. They are the largest land animals. They can hear and smell very well. Elephants eat grass and fruit. They like water. Snakes love the sun. They sleep in the winter like bears if they live in cold places.  Snakes can't hear. They put out their tongues to smell the air.

Mr Black has two cats. One is big and the other is small. He likes them very much. One day his good friend Mr Green comes to see him. He is very surprised. He finds two holes(洞) in the door, a big hole and a small one. He says, "My dear friends, why are there two holes in the door?" "To let them in and out." Mr Black answers. "But why are there two holes?" asks his friends. "How can the big cat go through the small hole?"

Camels are called "the ship of the desert" because they can walk through deserts easily. Deserts have no trees or much water, but camels can go without food or water for a long time. Why? Because their humps hold fat, and their stomach has twelve deep pockets to store water. Each pocket has a closed mouth, so food and water don't mix. When camels need water, they can get it from the pockets. Camels are also strong—they can carry heavy things for travelers. Their food is grass and tree leaves.

Winter is cold, so many animals have smart ways to live through it. Some animals collect food in autumn. For example, squirrels gather seeds and nuts, and beavers collect sticks. They stay at home in winter and eat the stored food. Many birds, like swans and wild geese, can't find food in cold places. So they fly from the north to the warm south in autumn. Other animals, such as bears, snakes and frogs, hibernate in winter. They sleep for months and don't eat much. When spring comes and the weather gets warm, they wake up and look for food in March or April.

Many animals are now in danger because of human activities. Tigers, elephants and rhinos are facing extinction. One big problem is habitat destruction—people cut down trees, so animals lose their homes. Another problem is illegal hunting. Some people kill animals for their fur, horns or bones. For example, elephants are killed for ivory, and tigers for their skin. We must protect these animals. We can help by saving their habitats—stop cutting down forests and build nature reserves. We should also never buy products made from endangered animals. Everyone's small action can make a big difference.

Loch Ness is a lake in Scotland. Some people say that a monster lives in Lock Ness.

One day, a man walked by the lake. Suddenly, he saw a monster. It was big and brown. It had large fins and a long neck. It swam very fast. Other people also saw the monster in Loch Ness. They say it looked like a whale and a snake. Actually, nobody really knows what is in the lake. So people call it the Loch Ness monster.

Tom: What animals can you see?

Tim: I can see the monkeys.

Tom: What are they doing?

Tim: They are climbing trees.

Tom: Can they swing?

Tim: Sure. What can you see?

Tom: I can see a koala bear.

Tim: What is it doing?

Tom: It's sleeping in the tree.
