Are you interested in animals and nature? Here comes your chance! You can take part in many hands-on activities and meet live animals—lions, pandas, tigers, and so on! More information about the program is as follows:

Age: Students aged 8—16 

Groups: There are 2 programs for you to choose from. Each program needs at most 15 students. 

Program A 

Dates: 11th—13th July 

Time: 10:00 a. m. —4:00 p. m. 

Program B 

Dates: 9th—11th August 

Time: 10:00 a. m. —4:00 p. m. 

Program cost: $230 for members; $250 for non-members(非会员). 

How to do: Come to our center to get an application form(申请表) and hand it in before 3rd July. 

Notes: We don't provide free lunch because people have different tastes. You may either bring a lunch-box or pay for lunch at our restaurants.

Imagine you are in a field at night, and suddenly, you see lots of little lights around you. You have just found a gathering of fireflies(萤火虫). Let's explore the secret of fireflies. 

How do fireflies make their tails shine? They can create their own light through a chemical reaction. It happens when two chemicals in their bodies combine (结合) and produce light. 

However, why do fireflies need to produce light in the dark? Fireflies use their lights to send "hello" messages to each other. Each kind of firefly has its own special way to shine. They use their lights as an invitation to get to know each other better so that they can have baby fireflies. 

But fireflies also use their lights to stay safe. Imagine you are an adult firefly in the dark, and a big spider is trying to catch you. You turn on your light to make a sign that tells the spider, "I taste disgusting. You won't like me. So don't eat me. " 

How amazing and wonderful the natural world is! Exploring the world of fireflies helps us see how important it is to take care of nature. 

Here are some activities that can help kids explore nature. Let the outdoor fun begin: 

Explore theSurroundings No need to be in a forest to explore nature. Start at the areas around you. For example, look at the corners of your backyard (后院), types of trees and leaves from the green. 

Catch an Insect You can let the kids use a small bottle or bag to collect insects. After collecting insects, you can watch the insects and know about them, and the n set them free into the wild!

Plant a Flower Start by digging (挖掘) a hole. If your child is able for it, give him his own shovel (铲子) and watch him go to work. As your child starts digging, ask him what he can see. After the hole and the exploring part, let him plant a flower, and remind him to look after it every day. 

Collect Leaves & Explore

Autumn is the best season for it! Collect all the different kinds of leaves, and discuss the colours and shapes. You and your child can imagine you are scientists, looking carefully and drawing what you see. Hope you will enjoy it!

New research has shown that the Moon is older than thought—it's 40 million years older. Scientists now believe it formed (形成) around 4. 46 billion years ago. 

A long time ago, a big collision (碰撞) happened in space. A planet named Theia, about the size of Mars, hit the Earth. This caused magma (岩浆) to fly out into space. As the magma cooled, it became rocks that began flying around the Earth. Slowly, these rocks came together and formed the Moon. 

How do we know this? In 1972, astronauts collected rocks from the Moon. The rocks had a special kind of mineral (矿物质). It formed after the Earth and Theia collided. Recently, scientists used a new tool to study the mineral more clearly. This helped them work out how old the Moon really is. 

Why do we study the Moon? It's not just a shiny rock in the sky! It plays a big part in our lives. It makes our seasons change regularly and even changes the weather. Without the Moon, life on Earth might not be possible. 

Before astronauts travelled to the Moon, there were stories about how the Moon formed. Some people thought the Moon was floating (飘浮) through space and got caught by the Earth's gravity (引力). But no matter how it formed, one thing is for sure: the Moon is an amazing part of our universe. We are still learning about it. Keep looking up, and maybe one day you'll find something amazing too! 

When you think about storytelling, a fairy tale might be the first thing that pops into your mind. Below are four key tips to help you write your own fairy tale.

> Tip 1: Create heroes and villains(恶棍)

Heroes are usually brave, clever and kind. Villains, on the other hand, are usually mean, foolish or weak, and they usually dislike the hero.  Their weakness creates problems, which lead to drama.

> Tip 2: 

Most fairy tales need magic! You may choose to include a magical moment. And maybe, you could include a magical object. Or perhaps, your characters have magical abilities.

> Tip3: Is there an educational lesson?

Consider what lesson your fairy tale could teach and fit this into your plot. If your main character is not thankful and loses their best friend for a while, this can teach readers to be more polite and satisfied with what they have.

> Tip 4: 

Fairy tales usually have a happy ending for the hero. This could mean they find love, get back the money, or just get to be themselves. Consider your villain's end, too. Will they run away or be punished? If they learn a lesson, perhaps they deserve a happy ending as well.

The Chinese Library of Barcelona is an amazing place in northeastern Spain. It was set up by Ma Xuefeng, who has lived in the city for the last six years. It's theChinese library in Barcelona and offers free book borrowing. Ma spent two years carefullyand bringing books from China. Among them, there are many wonderful booksChinese traditional culture, like stories about the Dragon Boat Festival and Chinese kung fu. 

Local people and Chinese kids, such as 10-year-old Yixuan Wu, arethis library. Ma also translated the famous Spanish book Don Quixote into Chinese, which is available in the library. With both Chinese and Spanish books, the library helps people from the twolearn from each other. It builds a strong cultural bridge between China and Spain. 

Have you ever been to a history museum? If you visit the National Museum of

China(最近), you might see a long line of (游客) waiting to buy fridge magnets (冰箱贴). They are quite (激动) and come early in the morning.

The idea for the magnets came from a phoenix crown (凤冠), it once (属于) to Queen Xiaoduan of the Ming Dynasty.

The crown is special. There are (九) phoenixes holding pearls (珍珠) in their mouths. (无论何时)the queen moved, the pearls moved with her, making her look pretty.

However, the queen's life was not as shining as her crown. She often felt(生病) and couldn't have her (自己的) children. But she was kind to her people, she (赢) many people's hearts. She was the queen for 42 years.

The phoenix crown is one of the museum's most famous (珠宝). To make it safe, it can't be shown outside China, Many other countries have rules like this.

Gifts are a way for people to show love. When you plan to choose gifts for your friends or family, you may spend lots of time thinking about their favourite gifts are. I think a handmade gift is the best choice. And you don't need to worry about  your gift is expensive or not. 

For example, on Teachers'Day, many students would like to make  (they) teachers gifts by hand. It may be a simple(简单的) handmade wallet, it may be a warm scarf. The handmade greeting card(贺卡) is a nice choice too. Many students stick or draw some pictures, and then they write down they really thank teachers' help and encouragement. More than anything, the gift comes from the heart and shows them your love and care. I believe teachers will feel  (surprise) at all the things students make by themselves. By the way, do you know   Teachers' Day is? It falls on September 10th.
