Animal Sleep Habits
All animals need sleep, and they sleep in many interesting ways! Cows and sheep can sleep when they are standing up, and bats (蝙蝠) love to sleep upside down. Many birds put their heads under their wings and even close one eye when they sleep.
Different animals also sleep for different time. Grazing animals like horses and elephants spend most of their day eating grass, so they only sleep for a short time. But brown bats sleep for about 20 hours a day! Squirrels sleep 15 hours each day, and lions sleep about 13.5 hours. Cats and dogs sleep less than them, with 12 hours and 10.5 hours each day. Elephants sleep just.4 hours a day, and horses sleep the shortest, only 3 hours!

Spring Festival in Guangzhou
Like most people in Guangzhou, my favourite festival is the Spring Festival. It is also called Chinese New Year. It usually comes in January or February. The weather in Guangzhou is cool and comfortable then, not too cold.
The 2025 Spring Festival started on January 29th. Before New Year's Eve, we cleaned our house and visited the flower fair. We bought a peach blossom tree and a kumquat tree. In Guangzhou, the peach blossom tree stands for (象征)good luck, and the kumquat tree stands for good fortune(财富). We also put up red Spring Festival couplets on our door.
On New Year's Eve, we had a big family dinner with Cantonese food like white—cut chicken and steamed fish. They are our favourite festival foods！
During the Spring Festival, we watched the"Cai Qing" lion dance in the morning.People believe"Cai Qing" brings good luck. Then we visited my grandparents. I said"Wish you good health and a happy Spring Festival！" to them. They gave me lucky money, and I felt so happy.
On the first day of the 2025 Spring Festival, we went to Bai' etan. Before the fireworks show, there was a cool drone(无人机)show—— hundreds of drones made nice shapes in the sky. It's a new and fun activity for Guangzhou's Spring Festival these years！
I love Guangzhou's Spring Festival. It keeps traditional activities and has new fun too. I can't wait for the 2026 Spring Festival！
